Spring and Easter Mohawk hat Plus a Tutorial By Cool95rocks

You need: -Crochet Hook I -Some Ribbon of your choice or Tulle -Worsted Weight Yarn ( I use pastel yellow) -Tapestry Needle -Scissors -You will need something to make the ribbon to be cut all at once and even. Like some piece of cardboard about 5 inchies or any rectangular object that is 5 inches wide. Below I use my crochet hook case to use for the ribbons.

Instructions: We are starting with a basic double crochet hat with a single crochet as a brim. STITCH TERMS: DC- Double Crochet SC- Single Crochet FO- Fasten Off ST- Stitch CH- Chain Make a magic ring or CH 4 (Any way you usually make a ring) SL ST in first ST to form a ring. Round 1 - CH 2, 11 DC in ring. SL ST in top of CH 2. (12 DC) Round 2 - CH 2, 2 DC in the same ST. 2 DC in each ST around. SL ST in top of CH 2. (24 DC) Round 3 - CH 2. *2 DC in next ST, DC in next ST*; Repeat around. SL ST in top of CH 2. (36 DC)

Round 4 - CH 2, *2 DC in next ST, DC in next 2 ST*; Repeat around. SL ST in top of CH 2 (48 DC) Round 5 - CH 2, *2 DC in next ST, DC in next 3 ST*; Repeat around. SL ST in top of CH 2 (60 DC) Rounds 6-12 CH 2, Dc each ST around. Round 13 CH 1, SC each St around. FO (60 SC) Now the ribbons !!! :) First, time to cut all your ribbons. We are going to use our 5 inch cardboard. Grab the ribbon end and put it on top of the edge of the cardboard. Make sure you hold the ribbon end down. Now we are going to start wrapping the ribbon around the cardboard multiple times to desired amount. Use scissors to cut on the side where you hold the end of ribbon down. You should have 10 inch strips of ribbon. We basically tie the ribbon on the hat. I use 3 DC from each row of the hat. Its a great thing we join rounds because it can help us guide the ribbon in a straight line. :D You can also use a larger hook to add the ribbon to the hat to make you more comfortable. 1. We are going to insert the hook underneath the DC above the SC round.

2. Grab the 10 inch ribbon.

3. Fold the 10 inch ribbon in half will make it now 5 inches.

4. Place the folded ribbon loop on the hook.

5. Draw it in.

6. Place the tail over the hook.

7. Draw the tail in and pull.

8. Tadaaaaa!!!! Repeat to the rest of the ribbon strips.

Keep going to your desired length of the Mohawk.

Happy Easter and Happy Spring!!! Just be creative!!!! You can also welcome follow my blog http://cool95rocks.blogspot.com/
