By school district

Prices declined on a per-square-foot basis for Houstons overall single-family housing

market in 2011. An annual study showed that 53,806 homes changed hands last year,
a 4.4 percent rise from the 51,545 sales in 2010.* The median price per square foot fell
to $71.26, a 2.3 percent decline from the median of $72.97 in 2010. The median sales
price rose to $155,000 in 2011, up 0.6 percent from $154,000 in 2010.

Public Policy. The figures primarily reflect existing homes,
