Super Tuesday The Presidential Primary Election will take place on March 6, 2012, and will involve contests in Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont and Virginia. Consider the unique opportunity we have before us to transform our federal government in order to place womens health and the lives of their unborn children as a top priority. The Ohio Right to Life Society PAC endorsements of longstanding pro-life allies, Speaker of the House John Boehner, Congressman Bob Latta, Congressman Bob Gibbs and Congressman Bill Johnson, for the March 6th primary elections. It is an honor and privilege for our movement to stand and support our pro-life leaders beginning with Speaker of the House John Boehner along with Congressmen Latta, Gibbs and Johnson. Over the course of their careers, these office holders have exemplified true leadership for the pro-life movement. Returning Speaker Boehner and Representatives Latta, Gibbs and Johnson to Congress will ensure that more mothers will be protected and more babies will be saved. These public servants will continue to advance our number one goal which is to overturn Roe v. Wade, said Mike Gonidakis, on behalf of the Ohio Right to Life PAC The Ohio Right to Life PAC is endorsing Josh Mandel for the United States Senate. Throughout his life and political career, he has been a strong defender of

October Baby is based on the real-life survival of Gianna Jessen While the story is fictional, it was inspired by the real-life story of Gianna Jessen, who survived a saline abortion. We were so moved by her story, said codirector Andrew Erwin. Her life is beautiful and a testament to the beauty of life in general and a testament to what the world would have lost if she had never been given the right to exist, said Jon Erwin, the other director. The filmmakers are donating 10% of the films profits to the Every Life Is Beautiful Fund, which will distribute funds to organizations that assist women facing crisis pregnancies, life-affirming adoption agencies, and those caring for orphans. We feel like its very important to use October

the rights for the unborn, said Marshal Pitchford, Chairman of the Ohio Right to Life PAC. Similarly, the slate of endorsed candidates for Congress have each expressed their dedication to the defense of life, said Pitchford. Elections have consequences. In 2011, Ohio witnessed historic gains with the enactment of numerous life saving measures. This election cycle will dictate whether Ohio will continue to protect mothers and their babies through our legislative initiatives. We are urging pro-life Ohioans to support these endorsed incumbents and candidates seeking public office, said Mike Gonidakis on behalf of the Ohio Right to Life PAC. Currently, a pro-life super majority exists within the Ohio Senate with all 23 members of the Republican caucus supporting Ohio Right to Lifes legislative agenda. The Ohio House of Representatives boasts strong bi-partisan support for the pro-life agenda as well. The candidates endorsed by Ohio Right to Life PAC are a diverse group of men and women including Democrats and Republicans. A complete list of all candidates endorsed by the Ohio Right to Life PAC can be found at the bottom of this press release. Notable endorsed candidates include: It is our responsibility to support pro-life candidates. Pass on the endorsements to your family and friends. The film has already received praise from many pro-life leaders who saw the film during its limited release. October Baby is the most gripping drama ever produced about the central civil-rights issue of our time the right to life, said Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights. Young people, in particular, will find it intensely moving. This is a must-see movie for all Americans. One of the most powerful scenes in the movie,

for me, was when Hannah tracks down the nurse from the abortion clinic, played by Jasmine Guy, wrote Kelly Clinger, a spokeswoman for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign. I was stunned at the honesty of what the nurse shared. The makers of October Baby were not afraid to tell it. The ending is well worth sitting through the 104 minutes of loving, humorous and at times, puzzling events and dialogue. A must see.

Governor Kasich Unveils Adoption Funding Program to Help Families Grow

Pro-life Governor John Kasich announced the creation of a new program to help Ohio families adopt children through the creation of the Ohio Adoption Loan Program. The state announced a partnership with Fifth Third Bank to provide loans up to $3,000 for Ohioans wanting to adopt a child. The state will also offer loans up to $2,000 for adopting a child living outside the state if the adoption is finalized in Ohio. Yet again, Governor Kasich demonstrates compassionate leadership with the announcement of this new program to promote adoption. Far too often, adoption costs are the sole barrier for Ohioans wanting to adopt a child, said Mike Gonidakis, President By Rachel Schlater of Ohio Right to Life. This wonderful program will help prospective adoptive parents better pay for the initial cost involved in adopting a child, ODJFS Director Michael Colbert said in a release. The Ohio Adoption Loan Program makes adoption easier for Ohio families and will help more families adopt children into safe and loving homes. Prospective families may apply at any Fifth Third Bank branch or contact their county public children services agency, a private child placing agency or the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services at www.jfs.ohio.gov .

Resolution Defending Religious Liberty Advances to Pro-Life Senate The Ohio House of Representatives passed House Concurrent Resolution 35, calling on President Obama to reverse the HHS mandate requiring employers to pay for abortion-causing drugs. The Ohio House of Representatives passed House Concurrent Resolution 35, calling on President Obama to reverse the HHS mandate requiring employers to pay for abortion-causing drugs. Requiring religious-based organizations to cover such drugs blatantly violates the conscience rights of individuals, said Stephanie Krider, Director of Legislative Affairs for Ohio Right to Life. If an employer has a moral objection to such coverage, this new federal mandate will force them to comply. This completely contradicts our rights of religious liberty. The Obama mandate requires health plans to cover all FDA-approved forms of contraception which include both Plan B and Ella, more commonly known as emergency contraception or the morning-after pill. There is significant evidence that these drugs can cause an abortion by preventing a human embryo from implanting in the womb. Even with the so-called compromise offered

last week, Ohio Right to Life and other pro-life groups will continue to protest this overreaching mandate. This resolution manifests that Ohioans will not stand for the outright denial of freedom by any version of the mandate. Ohio Right to Life is grateful to Representative Barbara Sears and Representative Peter Stautberg for sponsoring this life-affirming resolution. People of all faiths, including Catholicism, Judaism, Christian Science, Jehovahs Witnesses and others, should be very concerned that the government is forcing its will upon the conscience of its congregates, said Representative Sears. This is a critical issue and a clear overreach of the federal governments power into an area they should not be meddling. The federal government should not force employers to offer a product that violates their conscience or force religious leaders to act against their own teachings, said Representative Stautberg. We are sending a message to President Obama and Washington that here in the state of Ohio, we believe that religious freedom is worth defending. All pro-life Ohioans are encouraged to contact their elected representatives to support this resolution and express their opposition to the Obama mandate.
