Press release DU IBAs Graduation Ceremony held

The Graduation Ceremony-2011 of MBA Batch 43 and EMBA Batches 4, 5 and 6 of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University was held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at a hotel in the city. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed certificates as chief guest among the graduates of IBA while Director of IBA Prof. G. M. Chowdhury presided over the function. The function was also addressed by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Harun-or-Rashid, DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mijanur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Khair Jahan Sogra, Prof. Dr. A K M Saiful Majid and Ms. Khonika Gope. The Vice-Chancellor in his speech said, IBA is a centre of excellence not only in this country but in this region. I know that our MBA and EMBA programmes are internationaly recognised and ranked globally. You got well structured academic programmes, highly dedicated and knowledgeable teachers and unique learning and teaching ambience at IBA. As such, I think we ought to remember that IBA as an institution must continue excelling in the regional context. In this regard, I would like to emphasize that the beneficiary of IBA services, mainly the industry, should come forward generously and support the initiatives taken up by the institute. He added that, You will find that your degree from the most prestigious business institution of the country will shape your life forever and your experience at IBA will remain in your memory hopefully as a remarkable journey from which you have learned important lessons. These will serve as a guide in the future to reach your aspired goals and to achieve great things in life. He said, A sound education serves to improve your inherent qualities and inspires you to become dynamic, innovative and creative human beings. It prepares you for your upcoming journey in life. It shapes you to become successful and be the leaders of tomorrow. He urged the IBA graduates to give back their love, labour and efforts to our Motherland, Bangladesh and contribute in whatever small way they can. He said, You will often hear others say that our country needs great leaders. But I believe what we really require are great patriots of the country, who will be committed towards serving the country. We must all remember, our country is only as successful as we are willing to make it and our passivity only promotes slow degeneration of our Motherland. -----------------
