Newsletter 1

Next term we will be having...

Welcome to WDBC Playgroup, 2009. Whether you have just joined us or have been a part of it all for many years, were glad youre here! With so many new families at Playgroup theres bound to be some unfamiliar faces in your group (it might even be yours!), why dont you take the time to talk to someone you dont know. The more you get to know the others in your group, and they you, the more encouragement and support we can give each other. There will be many exciting things happening ahead of us this year and important things you need to know about, our newsletters are the way we will let you know about them. So stay tuned... After a rather hot start to the year things are starting to cool down. It is still important, however, to keep in mind the sun and the effect it can have on our children. We invite to you make use of the sunscreen provided on the front desk when children go outside to play. Hats and suitable clothing are also recommended, particularly in Terms 1 and 4. On this note, if you come across anything you think might be hazardous at Playgroup, please advise your leader immediately so that it can be seen to. Have a great Easter break and well see you next term. ...during week 10 of playgroup 22-25 June.

It is a wonderful thing to have a secure playground for our children to play in, especially as it allows us time to relax and chat over a cuppa. Wed like to encourage you, however, to make sure that you supervise your children whilst they are playing so that we can prevent unfortunate accidents. If you get caught up for some reason, such as taking care of another child, perhaps ask a friend or your playgroup Nana to watch your child play until you are able return. We want Playgroup to be a safe and happy place for all.

Were friends with each otherwere kind and we care. We play nicely togetherwe know how to share. We look after our toys we help pack away. This is how we have fun as we play today!

Have you noticed our Playgroup Pals Poem?

Being a young child can be tough, especially as they begin to socialise and play with other children. To help them learn some of the skills they will use while at Playgroup as well as other places like Pre-school we have come up with a little poem to encourage them. You will find it on the wall in the story corner and on the notice board.

In Week 6 of Term 2, 25-28 May, we will be inviting you to bring a Grandparent (or equivalent) along to Playgroup for Grandparents Day. This is a fun day for children to bring their grandparents along to see what they do at playgroup. There will also be a Total Learning book and educational toy display on the day for you to peruse and make an order if you wish. 20 % of the proceeds from orders will go towards new books and resources for playgroup.
