Why did you decide to run for this office? Ive dedicated my career to helping prevent crime and public safety. Ive worked very hard to help make Polk County an aggressive and professional District Attorneys Office, and I want to see the office continue to move in that direction. 2. How much will your primary campaign cost? Unknown at this time.

Have you ever been convicted of a crime, been disciplined by a professional licensing board/organization or had an ethics violation filed against you? If so, please give the details. No. 5. Have you ever filed for bankruptcy, been delinquent on your taxes or other major accounts, or been sued personally or professionally? If so, please give the details. A female defendant sued our entire office recently, but the charges were thrown out as unfounded. She was a Constitutionalist and wanted access to the tax records of all the lawyers in our office. 6. Why should people vote for you? What separates you from your opponent(s)? Be specific. Im a career prosecutor. As Chief Deputy, Ive made positive changes in the office that are making it a more aggressive and professional office. I can point to a real record of tough sentences that Ive obtained as a prosecutor. This is not a stepping stone for me to a judicial position, or any other position. I care about this community, Im invested in this community, and I want to continue to serve this community. 7. What are the three most important issues you would address if elected? How? (75 words

Protecting crime victims' rights and ensuring victims have a meaningful voice both in and outside of the courtroom. Ensuring the office maintains high standards of fairness, integrity and accountability. Partnering with community organizations, other agencies and neighborhood leaders to make our community safe for families and businesses.

8. What do you see as other important issues? Balancing the need to obtain tough sentences on the worst offenders and maintain workable caseloads in a very tough budget environment. 9. What magazines, newspapers and Web publications do you regularly read to keep up on the news and developments in your areas of interest? Statesman Journal, The Oregonian, The Itemizer Observer, and USA Today 10. Any skeletons in your closet or other potentially embarrassing information that you want to disclose before it comes up in the campaign? No.
