How to get from WWU to Seattle for $4.

On public transit !THIS WORKS ON WEEKDAYS ONLY! Leaving at 3:00PM At 3:08 PM take the 80X Shuttle from the Viking Union to the Lincoln Creek P&R. Connect to the 80X Mt. Vernon at 3:22 PM. Arrives at Skagit Station at 4:00. Cost: free if you use your bus pass. (You can also take the 80X Mt. Vernon from Downtown Bellingham Station. It departs at 3:15 PM, so leave Haggard Hall at 2:58 on Route 105 Downtown) At 4:15 PM from Skagit Station take Skagit Transit 90X Everett. It arrives at Everett Station at 5:00. Cost: $2.00 At 5:20 PM from Everett Station Bay C1 take Sound Transit 510 Seattle 5th Ave. It arrives at Stewart St. & 7th Ave at approximately 6:10. Cost: $2.50* *IMPORTANT: Paper transfers will not be issued by Sound Transit after Jan. 1, 2010. Other ways (More expensive): On Amtrak (every day) From Bellingham, board Amtrak at the Bellingham Amtrak station (Fairhaven Transportation Center). For latest schedules, fares, and online booking go to: www.amtrak.com. The Amtrak train arrives in Seattle at King St. Station. On Greyhound (every day) From Bellingham, board Greyhound bus at the Bellingham Greyhound station (Fairhaven Transportation Center). The bus arrives at the Seattle Greyhound terminal 811 Stewart St. For latest schedules, fares, and online booking go to: www.greyhound.com Getting to Bellingham Greyhound, Amtrak Station or Ferry Terminal (Fairhaven Transportation Center): From Haggard Hall, go to the Downtown Bellingham Station, then transfer to Route 401 (RED GO Line) to the Greyhound/Amtrak Station (and reverse). Evenings & Sundays: Take Route 105 between WWU and the Greyhound/Amtrak Station. On weekend mornings before 9:00 AM or late at night, it may be necessary to take a taxi between WWU & the Fairhaven Transportation Center. At approx. 5:55 AM Depart 4th & Union on Sound Transit 510 Everett Arrive Everett Station 6:39 AM. Cost- $2.50 At 6:50 AM Depart Everett Station on Skagit Transit 90X Mt. Vernon. Arrive Skagit Station 7:35 Cost: $2.00 At 7:45 AM Depart Skagit Station on route 80X Bellingham. Arrive at Lincoln Creek at 8:23 AM. Take the 80X Shuttle to WWU, arrive at Haggard Hall at 8:34 AM. Cost- free with Viking Xpress Bus Pass Total Cost- $4.50
Other ways (More expensive): From Amtrak Station: Board train in Seattle from King St. Station. Once in Bellingham, depart on Route 401 to Downtown, then transfer to Route 14, 105, 107, 190 or 196 (eve/Sun) to get to WWU. Evenings & Sundays: Take Route 105 from the Greyhound/Amtrak station directly to Haggard Hall. (see below). Students are encouraged to share taxis with other students also traveling to Western to minimize their costs.
