Audio
This project will work with any audio but for a ready-made solution get the - best-selling soundtrack used in the preview. My thanks to the very talented author, alkis. http://audiojungle.net/item/glitchy-digital-crystal-logo-07/129056
Timing If you are using audio, add it to the main timelione to make syncing easier (assuming you want the text reveal to end in time to your soundtrack).
Next toggle down layers 9 and 10 (the main reveals) and layers 12 and 13 (the shadows of the main reveals). Notice that each layer has Time Remapping enabled - not only to reverse the generated particle effect (see later) but also to adjust overall timing.
You can move the Time Remapping keyframes until the get your desired timing - ensuring the keyframe positions for the main reveals are matched in the shadow layers, so that the shadows appears exactly in time with the main reveals. Background (lights and color grading) Toggle down this layer (14) and change the ramp colors to your liking. You can then fine tune the Options to control how the three lights affect this layer.
background color using the Color Balance controls. You may also want to adjust the layers Material
Three white lights are used. You can experiment with different colours (for dramatically different results) and/or change their intensity and/or position in 3D space.
The main timeline has an overall Grading adjustment layer (6). Toggle down this layer and adjust effects until you achieve the overall look you want. Notice that Noise is applied - partly to help overcome any colour banding. Depending on your choice of overall colouring (darker tends to suffer more banding) you may need to switch the project to 16-bit colour (which will slightly increase render time). Camera Controller Toggle down the camera controller layer (4). Notice the gentle camera move-in and the wiggle expression (very subtle drift) applied. You can disable / adjust these settings to your liking. Other customisations There are two layers of Particular particles in use which you can adjust. You can also experiment with the Blur Edges adjustment layer (used to give the perception of depth of field blur).
You can experiment with Particulars settings (in the Reveal-Final pre-comps) - the options are infinite. Notice there is also an animated camera in use in the Logo Reveal Build.
