Photography Rules and Guidelines


1. An exhibitor may make only one entry. A total of 8 entries per class will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. 2. Photos that have been submitted in a GCA or GCA Major Show may not be re-entered. 3. Each photograph and its manipulation must be the work of the submitter. 4. The competition is officially open with the release of this focus. 5. To register, send your name, your club and your 1st and 2nd choice of classes in an email to blairmatthewslouis@me.com. Include the contest title Lets Talk It Over and the class numbers in the subject line. 6. You will be notified immediately of your acceptance or of the closed classes. 7. A special issue of focus will be devoted to presenting the entries of the competition. 8. This is going to be a Peoples Choice competition. Only GCA members can vote. The rules for voting will be included in the next special issue of focus. Entrants, as in a flower show, should remain anonymous. 9. Your digital image must be submitted by email no later than June 1, 2012. 10. Entries should be related to subjects consistent with Garden Club of America interests such as horticulture, floral design, gardens/landscapes, conservation and the environment, historic preservation, civic improvement and the natural world.

To submit your image: Please send the following items in one email to
Blair Matthews Louis, blairmatthewslouis@me.com In the subject line, include Lets Talk It Over, your name, the class and class number. In the body of the email, send your full name and your club. You may include a one sentence statement of intent.

Send your photo image as a Jpeg (jpg) attachment (not a PDF). Re-title your image file: (Lets Talk It Over, YOUR NAME, Class #). Large files are desirable, 300 dpi preferred, between 1MB and 2MB. To re-title files, use the Edit menu and follow the prompts.
