civil suit against Slipper. Looks bad for both sides, with claims also coming against Slipper from his time on Coalition benches. One says former senior Howard advisor Tony Nutt was told of allegations by a Slipper staffer, but told her to forget about it. (Louise Hall) Slipper reax Abbott and Gillard both doing pressers each saying Slipper is the others problem. Gillard has moved to distance herself from the fraud and sexual harassment allegations surrounding Slipper, arguing that her support for his speakership was based on a professional judgment about his ability to do the job. KINGS CROSS: Police have again appealed for calm over the shooting of two teenagers on a joyride in Kings Cross on the weekend, saying officers did not have the option to shoot the tyres of the allegedly stolen car. Assistant Commissioner Mark Murdoch says: If we are going to draw our firearms that is an absolute last resort for us and we draw our firearms to protect ourselves and others.
