TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Erickson Elementary Ypsilanti, MI Student Teacher Winter 2012 Semester I worked in this classroom daily fostering a productive learning environment for all students. I planned and taught a full three and half weeks, including lessons in: science, social studies, math, reading, and writing. I taught reading and writing lessons under the Daily 5 structure and used data based instruction in all subject areas. In addition, I worked with students daily as individuals, in small groups, and as a whole class to monitor their individual progress and to ensure the highest levels of learning for each student. Erickson Elementary Ypsilanti, MI Teaching Intern Fall 2011 Semester Throughout this semester, I planned and taught four math lessons and two science lessons. I also worked with individuals and small groups in reading, writing, and math to help develop skills in each subject area. I built relationships with each student through small conversations both in and out of the classroom. Tonda Elementary Canton, MI Teaching Intern Winter 2011 Semester As an intern in this classroom, I planned and taught two read alouds, a Social Studies lesson on regions of the United States, as well as other small group lessons. I paid special attention to the diversity of the classroom, including cultural and economic diversity. Hoben Elementary School Canton, MI Teaching Intern Fall 2011 Semester During my time in this classroom, I planned and taught two read alouds, a word-study lesson, as well as conducted small group lessons. These included small writing, reading, and math lessons. I worked with the cooperating teacher to help all students gain a full understanding of material that both her and I taught. Ann Arbor Preschool and Family Center Ann Arbor, MI Volunteer Fall 2009 Semester I volunteered in a Headstart classroom with a group of eighteen four year olds. I assisted the teachers of the classroom in teaching the children simple lessons. In doing so, I helped in the development of basic skills to helped to prepare the children with skills they would need for kindergarten.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Kappa Delta Pi- Tau Epsilon Chapter Ann Arbor, MI Member January 2011 - Present The Tau Epsilon Chapter at the University of Michigan is an International Education society dedicated to providing learning & enhancement opportunities to the students and professional members throughout the University of Michigan Community. Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, MI Community Outreach Coordinator October 2010 - April 2012 I worked with elementary and middle school students and administrators in various schools in the Southeast Michigan area. I worked to foster leadership skills and interest in philanthropy in these young students. The ultimate goal of this program was to assist students in the creation of a philanthropic event to raise funds and awareness for children with disabilities. References available upon request
