The consumption of alcohol is banned in most public places. Go to one of the many bars in the city centre.

Do not use the street as a toilet.

Camping in public places is not allowed. Go to campsites or hotels.

Behaviour that causes nuisance, such as noise, loud music and screaming, is not allowed.

Note that the Red Light District and other areas are under camera surveillance. Beware of pickpockets. Keep an eye on your possessions and do not leave anything behind in your vehicle. Ignore hotel runners. The Amsterdam Tourism & Convention Board will help you find reliable accomodation. Ignore beggars and dealers, keep your money in your pocket. Keep Amsterdam tidy. Throw your trash into the trash can! Violators can be prosecuted.
