Your Christmas Gift To Christ and His Church – As you prepare to share gifts with family and
friends this Christmas, we invite you to consider your 2008 gift for Christ and His church. Estimate
of Giving Cards may be returned as you come forward to receive Communion today.

Journey Group Meets Today – The Life Liners meet for Prayer, Bible Reading, and Fellowship
today following the 10:45 a.m. service. All are welcome. See Leon Wheeler.

Global Christmas Today – Take a trip around the world today to enjoy a variety of traditions,
carols, crafts, and food for the entire family, from 4-7 p.m. Craft activities begin at 4 p.m. followed
by a multi cultural pot-luck dinner and a time of sharing and singing. Sign up at the Welcome
Center today to bring a favorite food item to share!

Women’s Journey Group Monday – All women are invited to Lori Prunyi’s 7 p.m. Monday to
walk together and support each other in our Christian journey. Info? Call Patti Linman, 281-9137.

Lutheran Woman Today Bible Study Monday – Women from The Fairways meet 7 p.m.
Monday at Joy John’s to study “The Beatitudes” from the magazine Lutheran Woman Today and a

Women’s Book Club Tuesday – Meets 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at SoJ to discuss Fannie Flagg’s, Can’t

Christmas Caroling Next Sunday – You’re invited to go caroling next Sunday. Join us for pizza at
12:30 or meet us at SoJ at 1:00 p.m. We’ll visit an assisted living center and a nursing home and
finish with a Sing-along at The Fairways, finishing around 3:30 p.m. Sign up today!

No Experience Necessary Study Resumes in January – This Sunday study for those who
worship at 9 a.m. will resume at 10:45 a.m. in January and begin a new study of the book of
Romans. All are welcome.

2008 Building Use Forms – If your group has regularly scheduled meetings at SoJ, a new
Building Use form must be filled out and returned to the office. Questions? See Bob Belk.

Outreach Christmas Projects End Today – All gifts should be left under the lobby tree today
along with your receipt. If you forgot your gift at home, call Kristin Barlow at 407-277-1983 to ar-
range to get the gift here for wrapping. Additional monetary gifts for food distribution and stocking
stuffers are welcomed. Use an offering envelope and mark it “Outreach Christmas” and place it in
the offering basket. Thanks to all for making Christmas brighter for our neighbors!

Interfaith Hospitality Network Sign-Up Continues Today – SoJ will celebrate Epiphany by
hosting homeless families Jan 6-13. There was a great turn out of volunteers last week! If pos-
sible, we would like most positions filled today, as many SoJ members will be on Christmas vaca-
tion the next two weeks. If you’ve signed up for previous hostings, please sign up again today so
the team knows which positions are filled. Verify your info on the Volunteer Roster as well. If you
have not helped before, stop by the IHN TRIFOLD to see where your talents could fit in. Job de-
scriptions are available. Thanks for your dedication to this ministry. PRAISE THE LORD!

Quilting Team – SoJ’s Quilters will meet Monday at 9:30 a.m. to help wrap gifts for Devereux
House and No School Left Behind. All are welcome!

Bicycle Ministry – Volunteers are needed to help repair bicycles for people in need at 10am on
the 2nd Saturday and 10 am on Wednesdays. To get involved call Will Stevenback, 407-401-1963.

Cleaning Volunteers Needed – The January / February cleaning list is available. If you’re
available Thursday mornings, or other times during the week, PLEASE consider helping clean the
building once or twice a month. See Bob Belk today!

JoyFest '08 – SoJ's 3rd JoyFest will be held the Saturday after Easter, March 29, 2008. A Planning
Team is being formed. To serve, sign up at the Welcome Center or contact team leader, Anna Elias.

Youth “White Elephant” Christmas Party Wednesday – Bring a small, tacky gift (under $5) to
share and let the games begin, Wednesday @ 7 p.m. Friends Welcome!

Children’s Christmas Program Practice and Performances – “The Fumbly Bumbly Angels”
will have a dress rehearsal for all children Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 in the worship center. This
Christmas Program will be shared at the beginning of both worship services next Sunday. Please
bring your child, dressed in costume, to the Splash Zone prior to worship. After the performance
all children are invited to a “Birthday Party for Jesus” in the Splash Zone including treats and
games! Please stay for the performance at the beginning of the second service!

Sunday’s COOL Begins New Format…Teachers & Helpers Needed! Sunday’s COOL will start
the new year with a new format. Teams of teachers, helpers, check-in assistants, and subs are
now being recruited. Check the sign in poster in the lobby today or see Nicole Eastwood!

Teacher & Assistant Training – To help kick off our new Sunday’s Cool program, Jan. 13, all
teachers and assistants are asked to attend 1 of 2 training session to help them prepare, Sunday
Jan. 6 from 12:30-3:30 or Wednesday January 9 from 6-9 p.m. Please bring $3 for meals.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship –Two Christmas Eve Services will be held Monday, Decem-
ber 24th at 5 p.m. (designed especially for families with younger children) and at 7:30 p.m. Both
services will feature favorite carols, special music, Holy Communion, and candlelight!

Family Of Faith Meal – Enjoy a light potluck supper of favorite appetizers and Christmas cookies
at 6:30 p.m. between Christmas Eve services in our terrace cafe. If you don’t have supper plans
and would enjoy sharing a meal with your family of faith at Spirit of JOY…consider yourself invited!
Sign-up at the Welcome Center indicating what favorite treat you’d like to bring.

Christmas Eve Volunteers Needed – Families to greet, usher, help with communion, the Wel-
come Center and the nursery for Christmas Eve are needed. Sign-up at the Welcome Center.

Poinsettia Orders End Today – We will decorate our worship center for Christmas with 45 poin-
settias. We have ordered them for $6.00 each. To purchase one or more to give In Memory Of or In
Honor Of or In Thanks For someone please sign-up and pay by today!

Christmas Burundi Stucco Orders End Today! Today is the last day to purchase a bag of
stucco as a Christmas gift for loved ones. One $20 bag will waterproof ½ of a mud block home in
Burundi. Two bags will waterproof the entire home! Over 150 bags have been purchased so far! A
card will be provided to announce your gift. See Patti Linman today!

Joy Singers – The adult choir, for anyone, regardless of experience, meets Wednesdays from 7-8
p.m. They are preparing for next Sunday and for Christmas Eve. Consider joining us!

Christmas Eve Instruments – We will once again be creating an ensemble of brass and
woodwinds to play for our 5 and 7:30p.m. Christmas Eve services. If interested, contact Phil Greve.

Joyful Noise – This is the Sunday morning worship team, which prepares new music each week to
lead our congregation in worship at 9:00 and 10:45. If interested, see Phil about taking a Musical
Gifts Assessment to be a part of this group.

Private Music Lessons – SoJ’s Creative Arts Studio has 12 instructors teaching almost every
instrument and voice. For more information or to register, pick up a flyer in the Welcome Center.
