BILL GATES

William Henry Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. He is an American business magnate, investor, philanthropist and author. He has excelled in the software industry and is considered as creative genius in software field. Not only he is a creative genius but also an excellent leader also. He is the former chief executive officer and current chairman of Microsoft. He is consistently ranked among the worlds wealthiest people and was wealthiest overall from 1995 to 2009, excluding 2008, when he was ranked third. The attributes which made him a great leader are as follows. Sense of purpose Bill Gates knew from the beginning what he wanted to achieve, he set up his own goals and targets and started walking towards them. Beginning from eight grade, he started to show interest in computers and then he set his passion and his future goals on computers. Honesty Bill Gates honesty towards his employees and computers is undoubdtable. If he is not satisfied with the quality of his product or if he has any issues with them, he openly speaks about the problem with his employees. He is also known to make successful difficult decisions which were proven good in unpleasant situations with steadfastness and consistency also. He is honest to himself and his employees. Credibility Bill gates established credibility by being knowledgeable. He is also consistent, fair and impartial in all human interaction: by setting a positive example: and by adhering to the same standards of performance and behavior expected of others. Common sense Bill Gates knew what is important in a given situation and what is not. He knew that applying tact is important when dealing with people. He knows when to be flexible and when to be firm. He will be treating employees accordingly as per the given situation. He draws the final outcome from the employees within time or without any denial. Commitment He is truly committed to the goals of his organization. He is also committed with the people he works with and his ongoing personal and professional development. He will be willing to do everything within the limits of the law, professional ethics, and company policy to help their

team succeed. One of the important attribute of a leader is his commitment. I believe if there is no commitment, then there is no leader.

He received a title of Knight Commander of the order of British Empire from Queen Elizabeth for his contribution to British economy.
