EDEL453 Spring 2012 Gis Economics Reflection
2. What was the easiest part of writing this unit plan? The easiest part of writing this unit plan was making my lesson coincide with the teachers edition textbook. After making the last unit I had more of a template to go by to help with creating this unit.
3. What was the most challenging part of creating this unit? The most challenging part of creating this unit was finding standards that went with the lessons I created. I found that majority of the standards were specifically for Nevada, and my unit was on the Eastern part of the United States, so this made it difficult to find appropriate standards.
4.
How well did you and your partner work together? My partner and I worked well together. We agreed on everything we discussed with each other and both had our lessons to each other about five days before the unit was due.
5. How did you and your partner split the workload? My partner and I split the work by each making lessons for one chapter in the unit. We did unit 2 in the fourth grade textbook; I made lessons for the first chapter of the unit, and Holly made lessons for the second chapter of the unit. Therefore, I completed the first three lessons and Holly completed the last two lessons in the unit.
6. What suggestions do you have for yourself for the next time you write unit plans? The next time I write unit plans I think I should research what the unit is on using outside sources other than the teachers edition textbook to get more information on what I will be teaching.
7. What suggestions do you have for working more efficiently with a partner? I have had two great experiences working with partners for both of these units. It is hard to work with partners in general and being in an online class makes this more difficult but both units went well working with partners. I think it takes good communication between the partners in order for the assignment to be done well with little frustration.
