rom the day we entered the ninth-grade health class, one blackboard was covered with the names and locations of the major bones and muscles of the human body. The diagram stayed on the board throughout the term, although the teacher never referred to it. The day of the final exam, we came to class to find the board wiped clean. The sole test question was: "Name and locate every major bone and muscle in the human body." The class protested in unison: "We never studied that!" "That's no excuse," said the teacher. "The information was there for months." After we struggled with the test for a while, he collected the papers and tore them up. meeting will be. Church Van Ministry The Session has committed the church to purchase a used van, less than $18,000. On faith, the church will borrow the money to start, and a Van Fund has been established that you can donate to as the Lord leads. The van will have many uses including building the community of believers around our church. Stephen Ministry is a program that selects and trains laypeople for Christian care giving. Stephen Ministers in our church are certified and trained to help people go through the many transitions and challenges in life. Our Stephen Ministers serve anyone in need, both within and outside the church. Call the church office if you are interested in receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program. VBS 2012 is cleared for takeoff! Watch amazing things happen as kids encounter God like never beforeall against the backdrop of some of the world's most marvelous natural wonders. As kids explore Psalm 147:5, theyll recognize Gods power over all things, trust that God is always in control, accept Gods gift of forgiveness, celebrate that Jesus is alive, and rely on Gods power. Rev. Brad will be in charge of this years VBS, which is scheduled for July 9 13.

Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

Sundays in May th Sunday 13 - Mothers Day. The men of the church, headed by Bobby Thompson, will prepare breakfast to honor our mothers. The entire church is invited to come at 9:00 AM. No Sunday School, so that everyone may have the hour to fellowship together. Sunday 20th Senior Day. According to our records Sean Haynes is our only high school graduate this year. If there are others, please let the pastor know. th Sunday 27 Adam Jonathan Groves, son of Brittany Brown, and grandson of Bill and Kelly Brown, will be baptized. It is also Pentecost Sunday, so wear something RED. th Invitation to the 200 Anniversary Committee Our small group met Thursday evening with Philip Murphy, a Junior in the History Department at Cumberland University, to get to know him and begin working with him on the history publication for the church. We are not meeting every week now, so we will let you know when the next

2012 Camp Dates

Our people may invite guests, but the fee is available for regular attenders at our church only.
