Program highlights are listed below. *Keynote Speaker: Linda Christensen Christensen is the Director of the Oregon Writing Project at the Graduate School of Education at Lewis & Clark College. She is the author of numerous Rethinking Schools articles as well as Reading, Writing, and Rising Up: Teaching about Social Justice and the Power of the Written Word, and her latest book, Teaching for Joy and Justice: Re-Imagining the Language Arts Classroom. She is co-editor of other Rethinking Schools publications and a popular speaker about her work on literacy and social justice. She taught high school language arts and worked as language arts curriculum specialist in Portland, Oregon. *Featured Speaker: James Kirylo Kirylo is the author of the recently released book, Paulo Freire: The Man from Recife.
