Prior to the council meeting commencing there will be an opportunity of up to 15 minutes for members of the public to make comments and to ask questions of the Parish Council

1. To receive apologies for absence 2. 3. Declarations of Interest Minutes of the last meeting To approve the minutes of the meeting held on 16th April 12 (Paper A) Matters arising (for information only) o Apprentice the vacancy is now registered with HTP o Economic Improvement Fund to note the response from the IWC that they have now concluded the EIF for this year and are not in a position to reopen it for any further bids. Safer Neighbourhoods Team To receive an update from the Newport Safer Neighbourhoods Team Finance I. Financial Statement To receive and consider a financial statement (Paper B)

II. Accounts for Payment To consider and approve accounts for payment (Paper C) III. Donations Carisbrooke Priory Cllr Smart The Priory wish to purchase a commercial style cooker to provide lunches for volunteers and users, mainly people with mental health problems. A representative will attend to give more details (deferred from last month)

Gunville Community Association Cllr Hobart To consider a request for support from Nellies with the Jubilee celebrations and for the Olympic Torch Relay Alderbury Road Jubilee Party Cllr Whittaker To consider a donation to the street party to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee IV. Annual Return Paper D To consider the report from the Internal Auditor To agree and approve the Audit Commission Annual Return for 2011/12

V. Reports in the Beacon To consider the size and frequency of reports in the Beacon following the information regarding a price increase, current budget 1500. At present we have 9 half pages per year plus a double page for our annual report page increase from 112.50 to 158.40 (present size - 400 words) page 92.40 (275 words) VI. Church Litten Cllr Jones-Evans (Paper E to follow) To consider a joint project with the IWC to erect a youth shelter in Church Litten (deferred from March) To consider allocating 5177 towards the scheme 6. Traffic Issues in Newport Cllr Prior To consider calling a public meeting to discuss traffic issues in Newport including 20mph speed limit and the link road between Foxes Road and Mill Street (paper to follow) Olympic Torch Relay and Summer Fair Cllr Smart and Whiteman To receive an update on celebrations for the Olympic Torch Relay (Paper F) Carisbrooke Sign Cllr Hobart To release funds to replace the Welcome to Newport sign with a Welcome to Carisbrooke sign along Whitcombe Road. (Paper G) Fountain on the Quay Cllr Whiteman To receive an update on progress

Planning and Licensing Committee To receive and consider the minutes of the Planning and Licensing Committee held on 29th March and 12th April 12 (Paper H) Consultation on the IW Festival to receive costs of reporting to residents Printing - 108.00 Delivery maximum of 30 Parish Plan, Neighbourhood Plans and Medina Valley Action Area Plan to consider recommendations for a way forward (Paper I) 11. Working Parties: Transport and Tourism - to receive a report from the meeting held on 12th April - Cllr Ward (Paper J ) 12. Reports from IW Councillors To receive reports from IW Councillors who are not members of the Parish Council

13. To receive items for next agenda 14. Date and location of next Parish Council meetings The next monthly meeting is scheduled for Monday 11th June 2012, 6.45pm at the Riverside Centre.
