Crandall Engineering 3 May 2012

To whom it may concern, My name is Sam DesRoches and I am a civil engineering student in the co-operative program at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. I will have completed my second year in August 2012 and am currently looking for a co-op position related to my field for the fall term of September to December of 2012. During the summer of 2011, I worked for the Town of Bouctouche, adding information to a map of the town's sewer systems, storm drainage systems, and water mains. Since this map was under development by your company, Crandall Engineering, I worked in Crandall's Moncton office whenever I needed to update the map in AutoCAD. I also worked with Dave Phillips to survey any features missing on the map. Most recently, from January to April 2012, I worked for the Engineering Services department of the City of Vaughan, Ontario. I was assigned work in a wide variety of areas, working with AutoCAD and ArcMap in the office and a Trimble GPS data collector in the field. A summary of the tasks I completed during these work terms can be found in the "Work Experience" section of my resume. I have also included reference letters from my previous supervisors at the end of this package. Up until this point, both my co-op work terms have been in municipal settings, so I am specifically looking for a position in an engineering firm for my next work term. I am comfortable with whatever position may be available as I know I will learn valuable lessons wherever I work. On the job, I give my best to every task, I am not afraid to ask questions, and I strive to finish my work as efficiently and promptly as possible. When I worked in Crandall Engineering's Moncton office last summer, I was impressed by the friendly, helpful attitude of the staff, and I would enjoy the chance to work in the same environment again. If Crandall Engineering will have any student positions open in September to December, please feel free to contact me at my email address below.

Thank you very much for your time. Sincerely,

Sam DesRoches University of Waterloo swdesroches@uwaterloo.ca (Phone) 226-868-6384
