Standing on this foundation, the coachs responsibility is to: Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve; Encourage client self-discovery; Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies; and Hold the client responsible and accountable Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. Coaching System
The Pillars Coaching System: From Potential to Performance
Phase 1 - Goals and outcomes
Goal: To clearly establish the coaching mandate. In order to ensure that goals and expectations are met, a member of the Pillars ICF certified team of coaches will work together with the client and other key stakeholders to define the needs, areas of focus and expected results. Materials used include a workbook, templates, a benchmark assessment, DISC assessment and emotional intelligence questionnaire.

Phase 3 - Review and next steps


Goal: To review and evaluate the process, determine priorities and next steps. The portfolio is presented by the client to the stakeholders. Depending on the scope and complexity of the mandate, this meeting could represent a conclusion to the coaching process, it may highlight the need to revisit certain goals or to begin the next phase of objectives. Enquire about the 360 degree feedback assessment which solicits feedback from the clients direct reports, peers and supervisors.

Phase 2 - Coaching
Goal: To support the client in working towards the achievement of results as outlined in the mandate. Throughout the process, which includes nine coaching sessions and three stakeholder reviews, the client will build and maintain a portfolio of work which will represent the efforts, changes, insights and goals achieved throughout the coaching process.
