History
UET Lahore is one of the oldest universities in South Asia and a regional hub of academic excellence. It has been providing world-class education since 1921. Situated in the heart of Lahore ; one of the biggest commercial cities of the country, the university is distinguished by its accomplished and qualified faculty and strong alumni. IB&M
As a part of its progressive vision, the university has embarked upon providing business education through its newly established Institute of Business and Management (IB&M). Located on the premises of the main campus of UET, IB&M offers undergraduate and graduate business and management programs.

ENGR DR ALI SAJID (PHD, TI ) PROFESSOR DIRECTOR, IB&M Dr. Ali Sajid is a graduate mechanical engineer from UET, Lahore. He has done his Masters and Ph.D. in Engg Management from the George Washington University, Washington DC, USA. He has taught in various US Universities & worked at the World Bank, multi national & multi racial corporate environment of Washington

D.C. Since last eighteen years, he has been teaching at various Pakistani & US Universities. He has been an Advisor to the Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan on TQM & Productivity. Increasing Industrial Competitiveness & Productivity in White/Blue Collar Environment and application of Quality Mgt in Industry are his main areas of interest. In view of his contribution, Govt. of Pakistan has conferred him with Tamiga-a-Imtiaz. He is founding Chairperson of NUST School of Business & Founding Director of Engg Mgt at CASE, Islamabad. He is also Founding Director IB&M UET Lahore. He is official trainer of PEC, CDA, Suparco & NESPAK, Police Academy & USAID etc. A. JAFERI PROFESSOR Mr. Jaffri is a highly qualified management professional. Presently, he is working as visiting faculty at various HEC accredited universities at NUST, NU-FAST, IIUI, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Iqra University and CASE. He is also involved in consulting and training with private and public sector organizations. He has a vast experience of working as Marketing and Sales manager is different national and multinational companies. He had worked as General Manager Sales and Marketing in world renowned Hewlett-Packard company in Pakistan, Uzbekistan and in USA. He has done BSc (Hons) in Physics & Mathematics, MSc Physics, M.Sc (Comms. & Control Systems) from University of Edinburgh, UK, Post Graduate Diploma in Persian and English Literature from University of Tehran & MBA from Santa Clara University, California. AISHA MASOOD LECTURER Aisha Masood has joined IB&M U.E.T. as a lecturer of Management. She has done her Masters in Business Administration (Finance) from University of the Punjab. She did BBA (Hons.) in Banking & Finance from the same institute. She did her thesis on Gender Discrimination and took a case study of MCB Bank Ltd. She has one year experience of industry as a Planning Officer in Fuji Capacitors(Pvt.) ltd. She has also worked in multiple banks as an intern. She has got the training of Professional Competency and Enhancement Program conducted by National Academy of Higher Education and in the training she got the award of being Distinguished Performer. Her areas of interest are Finance and General Management. ENGR ARIF IJAZ LECTURER A graduate of Electrical Engineering from UET & an MBA from Center for Management Studies, Iran. Mr. Arif Ijaz has had more than twenty years of

experience in the development, growth and leadership of personnel. As the Chief Executive Officer of Adamjee Insurance (one of the largest insurance companies in Pakistan) and KSB Pumps (a German multinational) Mr. Ijaz was responsible for initiating structural reforms, reengineering programs and world class systems thus bringing these companies to new heights. Having served as the Director of Pakistan Steel Mills, National Refinery, Lahore Stock Exchange, HUBCO, and LUMS. Mr. Ijaz brings a wealth of industrial and academic experience to the classroom. During his career he has pioneered innovative programs and is an expert in project management, information technology and human resources experience. His research interests are in Project Management, Leadership, Information Technology, and Human Resource Management. ARSHAD MAHMOOD ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Lt. GENERAL (RETIRED) ASHRAF SALEEM PROFESSOR A graduate of Bachelor in Arts (1967-71) from Government College, Lahore & MBA (Finance), (1978-80) from IBA, University of Punjab, Lahore. He is also graduated in Bachelor of Strategic Studies, 1984, University of Baluchistan & Master of War Studies, 1998, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Moreover he attended many courses on Gunnery Staff Course (Military Sciences) , 1981, Air Defence Artillery Advance Course, Fort Bliss, USA, 1982-83, Staff Course 1984, entrepreneurship in Indonesian Language from Defence Language Institute, Jakarta, Indonesia, 1986-87, Indonesia Army Command and Staff Course, 198788, Command and Staff College, Quetta, Creative Thinking at Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM), Lahore, 1993, Armed Forces War Course, 1997-98, National Defence University, Islamabad and Human Resource Development at LUMS, Lahore, 2006, Bandung, Indonesia. He also served as editor The Citadel, professional magazine of Command and Staff College, Quetta, 1993. Later, he was appointed as Deputy Military Secretary to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, 1993 94. Mr. Ashraf has huge experience in command and staff jobs, being an employee in army. In army, he worked as commander of an infantry and Air Defence Division & Army Air Defence Command (Corps). He was appointed also as Brigade Major (twice) at Headquarters Infantry Brigade under operational environment. ZAIDI PROFESSOR A team leader, since 1987 to-date has spearheaded and successfully serviced many important mega action & evaluative research, process consulting, HRD & management training, ISO 9000 QMS development and hosts of other prestigious

social sector assignments including Business Planning and Project Feasibilities preparation of various commercial projects. Earlier on, during 1970-1986, he worked on senior financial management positions in the UAE, Middle-East with Hawk Publish Ajman & Fertil ADNOC Abu Dhabi. In Australia he has also worked with international firms of CAs during 1970s. Over the last many years, Mr. Zaidi has been regularly invited as a guest speaker at many prestigious institutions like Pakistan Administrative Staff College (PASC) now National School of Public Policy (NSPP) Lahore, NIPA now NIMS & a few others He has taught the subjects of Org Behaviour (OB), HRM, Performance Management (PM) and Recruitment & Selection (R & S) subjects to MBA and Executive MBA classes. MALIHA LATIF LECTURER She is Masters in Clinical and Occupational Health Psychology from UK. She has been involved in training senior and middle management of different industries with an interest in following areas; Stress and Time management, Anger Management, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Motivation through Work, Risk Management, SWOT Analysis, Workplace Harassment & Bullying, HR Systems and Policies and Workplace Safety. She is providing support to institutional management for the past 15 years. She has been involved in assessing and measuring psychosocial hazards of organizational and industrial systems. Her area of specialization is occupational stress, HR system and their enforcement with special focus on recruitment. She is a practicing psychologist and has been involved in conducting psychotherapeutic session with mentally, emotionally and behaviorally disturbed individuals. She has been carrying out comprehensive psychological assessments IQ, EQ-map, Personality, Career counseling and guidance. Some of her satisfied clients are, Packages, Footlib, EMCO Tiles, SUNGI (NGO) Amaar Textiles, Sarah Textiles. She is a regular member of British Psychological Socity (BPS) and Pakistan Association of Clinical Psychologist. MASOOD HAIDER ZAIDI PROFESSOR Mr. Haider Zaidi is the Chairman of the Department of Humanities & Management Sciences, UET, Lahore and is a qualified Management Professional and an Economist. Mr. Zaidi has a long experience of teaching and research. He started his teaching career from the Department of Administrative Science from where he had graduated in 1974.He joined UETs Department of Humanities and Social Sciences as Lecturer in November 1974 for teaching management and economics courses. Besides UET, Mr. Zaidi has taught at LUMS, Punjab University, Military College Risalpur, Punjab College of Business Administration etc. He worked with general consulting firms as an economist on projects of National & International stature. He is MS Economics from University of Idaho, USA and Masters Administrative Sciences from the Punjab University Pakistan. Mr. Zaidi is a leading educationist

and trainer. He has authored more than twenty research publications in reputed journals. He has research interests in Economics and Management. ENGR MAJ GEN (RETD) MIAN SALIM UD DIN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR He is graduated in Electrical Engg from UET Lahore in 1964 & was commissioned in the Pakistan Army Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in 1965. He graduated from Command & Staff College Quetta in 1974. He held various command and staff appointments including command of an aviation base repair facility, College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Director General Inspection & Technical Development at General Headquarters, DG Military Vehicles Research & Development Establishment and DG Electrical & Mechanical Engineering at GHQ. He was posted to Defence Science & Technology Organization in October 1998 as Chief Scientist & Scientific Advisor from where he retired in March 2002. He is QMS-9000 certified Lead Auditor from IRCA since 2005. He is in visiting faculty of Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) Islamabad He remained member of Laboratory Accreditation Council (PNAC) in 2004-2007. He was Chairman of Quality, Productivity and standards Planning Commission for 2005-2010 programs. He is certified inspector of Jigs and Tolls Sweden. Increasing productivity in industry, Good Governance, Technology Mgt & Application of Total Productivity Maintenance in industry are his main areas of interest. ENGR. MUHAMMAD AMIR QURESHI LECTURER Has done BE(Mechanical Engineering) from NED University & MBA from Institute of Business Administration Karachi. He is also an IRCA registered Lead Auditor for ISO 9000, and ISO 14000 and a Certified Energy Auditor. He has 24 years of extensive and diverse working experience in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Customer Relationship Management, Energy Management, Environmental Management, Safety, Performance Management, Project Management etc. He has been involved actively in Training, Teaching, Consulting, and Auditing at Pakistan Institute of Management, SMEDA, Lloyds Register Quality Assurance, University of Management and Technology, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot etc. MUHAMMAD ASLAM KHAN LECTURER

MUHAMMAD SHAHZAD CHUDARY ASSISTANT PROFESSOR Shahzad Chudary, Assistance Professor of Statistics, received his M.Phil. degree in Statistics from Government College University Lahore and did his masters in Economics from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He is teaching in various reputed

institutions of Lahore from the last ten years. He has been working as Assistance Professor of Statistics from 2003 to 2007 at Forman Christian College (A Chartered university) Lahore and at University of Central Punjab from 2008 to 2010.He has been a guest speaker in Audit and Accounts training institute (A.G Office) Lahore and a visiting faculty at Institute of Cost and Management Accountant of Pakistan (ICAMAP) Lahore. He has participated in various trainings of Intel Education, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Islamic Society of Statistical Sciences (ISOSS), and Center for Learning and Teaching, FCC. He has been resource person in Intel Education, Center for Learning and Teaching, Forman Christian College and Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Lahore. Teaching is his chief interest and ruling passion. He has devoted himself to education and research. Dr. MUHAMMAD TAHIR MASOOD PROFESSOR Dr. Masood is the holder of two undergraduate degrees (Govt. College, Lahore and Military College of Engineering), two master degrees (USA), and two doctoral degrees (USA) - Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and second Ph.D., in Urban and Regional Planning from Texas A&M University, USA. In 2008, he joined COMSATS Islamabad as a Foreign Professor. Before relocating to the United States of America in 1988, Dr. Masood served in the US Agency for International Development, and Government of Pakistans National Transport Research Center in Islamabad. In USA, Dr. Masood worked as a faculty in a university. In 1994, he got involved in Project Planning and Business Management in US Industry. Since 2008, he has been teaching Project Management as well as MBA courses at COMSATS, SZABIST, NUST, and IBM-UET. (Prod.) from UET Lahore. Later he received another MSc. (Engg. Mgt.) and PhD (Manuf.) from University of Birmingham, UK. After gaining some industrial experience, he joined UET and has been worked here for more than 20 years now. He has a vast experience of teaching, research and training locally and abroad. His teaching experience is spread over 10 management courses and a matching number of engineering courses. He has several research papers to his credit in the areas of management and engineering. He has played a significant role in planning and execution of some development projects and is involved in several multi dimensional activities of the university. His

special areas of interest include Project Management, Operations Management, TQM & Operations Research. ENGR. PERVEZ IQBAL MUGHAL PROFESSOR Mr. Pervaiz Iqbal Mughal is a graduate of mechanical UET Lahore (1973) and currently associated with renowned multinational organization (TSML). It is a subsidiary of a very fast expanding Al-Tuwairqi group of Saudi Arabia, which is setting up a mega steel project having capacity of 1.28 million ton per year capacity (bigger than the capacity of Pakistan Steel) with the phased investment of U.S. $ 500 million plus. He also worked as Director Production & HR at KSB Pumps Hassanabdal. RAFI JAVAID PROFESSOR

RASHID AHMAD PROFESSOR Mr. Rashid Ahmed is MBA from IBA, Karachi. He also has got Masters degree in Economics from University of Punjab. He has more than 40 years of extensive and diverse working experience in Operations Mgt, Teaching & training, Consultancy. He delivers lectures in University of the Punjab, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, Hailey College of Commerce, Lahore and conduct training programs at Development Banking Institute, Karachi, NIPA, National Bank of Pakistan Staff College. He hold strategic designation (CEO & MD) in various National and multinational organization including Trust Leasing & Investment Bank Limited, Advisor, Trust Investment Bank Limited, Pakistan Industrial Leasing Corp Ltd, National Development Finance Corporation(NDFC), The Chase Manhattan Bank, Lahore, NDFC,IDBP, UBL, Benz, ASSOCIATION OF PAKISTAN (MAP) etc & hold DIRECTORSHIPS & OTHER HONORARY POSITIONS in Kohinoor Mills Limited, Suraj Cotton Mills Limited, Board of Governors of National Mgt Foundation, (LUMS since 1996). Dr. ROZEIA MUSTAFA ASSISTANT PROFESSOR Dr. Rozeia Mustafa is Assistant Professor at IB&M & a researcher with several high quality publications in IT-based Business infrastructures. She has earned her doctorate from Vienna University of Technology in the field of business management. Her specialty includes, inter-organizational knowledge transfer, innovativeness of teams within SMEs and evaluation of business models. Her research spans studies in Business Models and knowledge Management. She served as Associate editor for International Journal of Knowledge, Open reviewer for The 3rd International Conference on knowledge Generation, Communication and Management and Member technical program committee (TCP) of IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology. On the

industrial level Dr. Rozeia has worked as Project Manager at Higher Education Commission Pakistan as well as at the Ministry of IT & Telecom, serving on different projects related to human resource development. She has also served as liaison with various public and private sector organizations nationally and internationally. SYED SOHAIL RIZVI LECTURER Mr. Rizvi, has done his MS in HRM form University of Southern California and MBA in International Finance from Pacific States University, Los Angeles. He is an Associate Member of American Society for Training & Development and Project Management Institute (PMI), USA. He is also a Certified Quality Manager from American Society for Quality, USA and Six Sigma Green Belt from Singapore Quality Institute International (SQII). Mr. Rizvis professional experience of 21 years includes 14 years in USA and 7 years in Pakistan. He is an accomplished professional in all the areas of People and Organization Development, with a passion for teaching and training. As corporate trainer and consultant he worked with big names of Pakistan, including, Nestle, ICI, Descon, Packages, Total, Warid, and Bank Alfalah. He is currently working as Head of Management Development at Bank Alfalah Limited. ENGR. T. A. KHAN LECTURER Mr. Turab Khan is BE (Mechanical from UET Peshawar) & MS in Engg Mgt from CASE. Presently he is working as Director in Pakistan Tobacco Company, Head office Islamabad. He is basically mechanical engineer and has vast experience of working in different government, semi government, and multinational organizations and industries. His area of interest is productivity and supply chain management. He has also worked in WAPDA and Pakistan Steel mills Karachi. He has also done various professional courses in supply chain management, 5S, ISO 9000 Lead Auditor Course, Environment Health and Safety, Six Sigma appreciation, process acceleration and QFD. Besides his professional work he has experience of teaching in National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and CASE. He has carried out Environment Health and Safety audits of various companies in Pakistan and abroad. WAQAR UL QAYYUM LECTURER Waqar Ul Qayyum is currently working as a Lecturer of Marketing at the Institute of Business & Management, UET Lahore. He is a graduate of University of Central Punjab (UCP) With Majors in Marketing. Prior to joining IB&M he remained

assistant marketing manager at CFE group of colleges. He has been attached with various housing society developers. He has been involved in managing marketing campaigns and is active in teaching topics related to Marketing core courses and Integrated Marketing communication (Advertisement and Promotion). He is also heading IB&Ms Marketing Affairs, Event Management Society and Continuing Education Program (CEP). ENGR ZULFIKAR. MOEEN LECTURER Zulfikar Moeen is teaching from the last two-years in private-sector Institution London Walthom College offering PGD-courses progressing to full MBAdegree courses. He is also visiting faculty-member in Universal Legends College based in east-London. Zulfikar Moeen is also Course Director in LWC for the Executive Education Project Management course, which is a one-week continuing professional development course offered to delegates from industry, and which leads to the APMs own APMP professional qualification. This course is accredited by the APM. It is held approximately 7 times per year and is attended by delegates from a wide range of blue chip and major public sector organisations. He recently joined IBM-UET as a visiting faculty member. He has over 15-years diversified local and international experience and exposure for working on Megaprojects in construction industry and currently serving in Construction firm SINACO-ENGINEERS as Project-Consulting Specialist. Prior to this previous role he was working for a Turkish-multinational Bayindir-Inc engaged in the construction of Islamabad-Peshawer Motorway Project (M-1). He has done his B.E (civil) from University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, and also done Two Master Degrees; one is Masters in Business Administration from Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Business School, and MSc in International Business Management from University of Gloucestershire (UK).
