FOOTBALL ALL-STARS
OFFENSE FIRST TEAM
QB: Nick West, Conner
The junior completed 200 of 324 passes (62
percent) for 2,702 yards (225 ypg) and 30
touchdowns. He threw just nine interceptions. He
also rushed for 622 yards and 11 touchdowns.
RB: Charles Quainoo, Boone County
The junior led the state in rushing during the
regular season, averaging 210 yards per game.
In all, he rushed 339 times for 2,198 yards and
21 touchdowns.
RB: Mark Kelly, NewCath
The senior rushed for 1,795 yards and scored
29 touchdowns.
WR: William Englemon, Conner
The senior led Northern Kentucky with 839
receiving yards on an area-best 66 catches. He
also caught nine touchdown passes and rushed
for four more scores.
WR: Tony Bishop, Campbell County
The senior led Northern Kentucky with 965
yards receiving on 59 catches. He also had
eight touchdown receptions.
TE: Mike Sullivan, Holy Cross
The senior caught five touchdown passes.
OL: Dominic Mainello, Beechwood
The senior anchored a line that helped ac-
count for 4,627 yards of rushing offense, an
average of 308 per game.
OL: Adam Dempsey, Highlands
The senior helped the Bluebirds average 44
points a game.
OL: Kevin Connaughton, CovCath
The junior helped lead the way for an offense
that averaged 28 points per game against in-
state opponents.
OL: Max Muckerheide, Conner
The senior helped pave the way for an of-
fense that averaged 367 yards and 33 points
per game.
OL: Zach Hall, Boone County
The senior helped pave the way for the
state’s leading rusher and the rest of an offense
that averaged 340 yards per game.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Miles Simpson, Simon Kenton
The junior running back finished the
season with 2,309 rushing yards and
41 total touchdowns. He also was a
standout defensive back.
COACH OF THE YEAR

He became the first coach since
1995 to lead a No. 4 seed to the state
finals. The Pioneers were the Class 6A
state runners-up.

The senior made 41 tackles and recorded a
fumble recovery. He led a defensive line that
allowed just 84 rushing yards a game.
DL: Kody Rosenhagen, Highlands
The senior led a defense that allowed just 12
points a game. He recovered three fumbles,
returning one for a touchdown.
DL: Chris Brzinski, Ryle
The senior recorded 48 solo tackles, five
sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble
recoveries.
DL: Brady Slusher, Beechwood
The senior helped lead a defensive line that
allowed just 68 rushing yards per game.
LB: Greg Willett, NewCath
The senior led the Thoroughbreds with 94
solo tackles.
LB: Brandon Roller, Highlands
The junior was one of the leading tacklers on
a defense that allowed just 12 points a game.
LB: Zac Eagler, Boone County
The senior was one of the leading tacklers on
a team that allowed just 14 points a game. He
also recorded an interception and two fumble
recoveries.
LB: Pat Van Sant, CovCath
He was the team’s leading tackler, averaging
10 per game. He also picked off a pass and
recovered a fumble.
DB: Austin Collinsworth, Highlands
The junior recorded a team-best four inter-
ceptions, returning one for a touchdown.
DB: Joe Daniels, Beechwood
The senior was the top defensive back on a
team that allowed just eight points a game. He
had two interceptions.
DB: Ben Parr, NewCath
The senior averaged five tackles a game, in-
tercepted three passes and returned a fumble
for a touchdown.
P: Nieco Teipel, Beechwood
The senior averaged 41.2 yards per punt.
