THE BAR Nicholas is sitting at a bar, slightly tipsy, talking to the Bartender (off screen). NICHOLAS I had it all worked out, I was gonna wine and dine her, treat her like a princess... BARTENDER Wow, so... Where did it all go wrong? NICHOLAS Well... JENS PORCH Nicholas knocks on Jens door, obviously nervous. Jen opens the door. JEN Hi-ii! NICHOLAS Eyh! Nicholas tries his best to look cool. Jen turns around and says her goodbyes to her parents who are inside the house. JEN Bye mother. Bye father. I wont be late! Jen turns back to face Nicholas, smiles giddily, shes optimistic about the days events... The pair start walking down the porch stairs. JEN So, what do you want to do? NICHOLAS How about a cup o joe? Nicholas begins patting himself down, as he looks for his wallet...

JEN Yeah! I know this great little place just around the corner, they do the best Chai Vanilla Machiatto! Nicholas realizes hes misplaced his wallet. JEN Its just down here! NICHOLAS *sharp intake of breath through teeth* ...Actually... Its a bit too hot for coffee... Um... The Park! How about we go to the park? JEN Yeah! We can go for ice cream! NICHOLAS Thats a GREAT idea... But... uh... Lactose intolerant... Sorry... JEN Ooohhh, you poor thing! The pair walk off screen together. THE ICE BREAKER The pair are sitting on a bench, enjoying the sun. Nicholas makes his move... by trying to sneak his arm around Jen. Just as he is about to grab her shoulder Jen turns her head and Nicholas pretends to yawn and stretch his arm/skratches his head. Jen turns away slightly embarrassed by the situation that just occurred. The pair share a somewhat awkward silence, when Nicholas sees a small boy walk past with an ice cream... He turns to Jen: NICHOLAS Wait here, Ill be right back... THE DEAL Nicholas catches up with the little boy. NICHOLAS Hiiiii.

The little boy turns around and looks up at Nicholas. The by is a bit creeped out by the heavy breathing & smiling man towering over him. LITTLE BOY Mom... NICHOLAS No-no no no-no. Listen.. I just want to trade you your icecream. Foooor... The boy looks at his ice-cream and then back to Nicholas whos searching through his pockets. He pulls something out of his pocket, holds his hand up without revealing the contents. Opens his palm, looks at the content with a doubtful expression on his face. BALLOON ANIMAL Nicholas returns with an ice cream for Jen. JEN Awww, youre the best! Nicholas blushes, and gives a slight nervous laugh. JEN Oh, arent you having one? NICHOLAS Um.. I, er, uh JEN Oh, of course, youre lactose intolerant! Poor thing.. NICHOLAS Yes. Thats why. The little boy, carrying a balloon snake with a pointy tip comes up to the couple. His little sister comes running up behind him. LITTLE BOY Hey mister! Can you make a balloon animal for my sister too? JEN excited gasp* You made him a * balloon animal???

NICHOLAS exasperated laugh* Erhm. Uh.. * Yeah... Well.. Nicholas is obviously embarrassed. LITTLE GIRL Balloooon. JEN Awww.. Shes soooo cute. You have too make her one as well. NICHOLAS No no no.. No.. no.. nhho. The little girls eyes starts to water, her lip shivers and shes obviously about to cry. JEN Look at her, shes about to cry. You have to make her one. LITTLE BOY Aaawww, Pleeeeaaase mister! JEN Ah, come on. Do it for me. Nicholas looks at the kids and then looks at Jen. NICHOLAS Ah.. *sigh* Nicholas reaches into his pocket, looks up at them for a moment and then pulls out a condom. Closes his eyes and starts to rip the wrapping apart. THE BAR BARTENDER Nooo... You didnt? NICHOLAS yup.. BARTENDER I feel for ya pal. Slight pause
