Good Times
Take a moment to look around you and you will know that we are blessed. There is no doubt that there is much we need to do, many things we need to improve, and challenges we need to undertake. It may not be the politically correct thing to say, but I think you know that no great accomplishments come without diligent and dedicated work. I am reminded of the quote from an old track coach. Pass them going up-hill. What is gained with great effort will not be lost with ease. Let me mention a few of the good things that are taking place and encourage you to see the value in being a part of what is happening. VisitationWeekly, there are volunteers who are sending notes, making phone-calls, and personally contacting our visitors and members who have a special need. Seminar We just completed a very well attended marriage seminar conducted by Leon Dennis. Vacation Bible School VBS will take place in less than a month (June 11-13). It will be three days of Bible classes is a less formal setting. It is always an uplifting time of singing, activities, refreshments, and great Bible stories. This is one of our BIG events for everyone. Wednesday Evening Summer Series Throughout the summer we will have some really good teachers from throughout the area, sharing some great lessons with us. The series this year will center on Great Questions from the New Testament. Area Wide Teen Gatherings These youth events take place each week at differing congregations. Brothers Keeper Our fellowship in smaller groups continues each month. OutreachMailings and Door Hangers are being taken to homes throughout our area. Well, these are only a few. I will share more. Get involved.

Some have questioned the placement of the screen. That is something that we are continuing to study for the best option and benefit. This is just one of the ways that we are continuing to seek the best ways to work together, present the Word, and communicate with an ever changing world.

Spotlight on Mission Work India Preaching School & Orphanage School: Orphanage: The Orphanage was started in 1992 by the Cox family. It began with 20 children. Currently there are 71 children in the home with another 30 on the waiting list. Each child is provided with physical, spiritual, educational and medical care. The orphanage is fully supported by Southern Ridge. Printing Press: The school prints its own material. By doing so they were able to reach millions of Indians in native dialects. They print tracts, books, booklets, correspondence courses, special year planners and calendars. They are now printing at the rate of about 3500 copies a month. Preacher School: Men spend 6 weeks studying and training to preach. After graduation these men go out in to the bush teaching, preaching and establishing congregations of the Lords church. Hundreds have trained. Each man returns every six months for a refresher course and more training.
