Pastors Notes: This coming weekend, our church will celebrate two very important things. The first is MEMORIAL DAY. The actual date of Memorial Day is May 30 and is celebrated on Monday, May 28th. Every year, we try to, in some form or fashion, pay tribute to those men & women who gave the ultimate sacrifice of the giving of their life. We owe a tremendous debt to these men and women and the least we can to do is remember them and their great sacrifice. During the service we will be paying tribute to these fallen soldiers. Secondly, is that of PENTECOST. 50 days following the Passover came the fest of Pentecost. It was on the day of Pentecost that the outpouring of the Holy Ghost came. The church has never been the same since. Although I slightly deviated from the series The Holy WHO? this past Sunday, I will complete the series this Sunday morning. Please make your plans to be with us for worship as we celebrate these two great days!!! DISTRICT PENTECOST RALLY this coming Sunday night, we will be having our 3rd Annual District Pentecost Rally. We will be meeting at our church (Woodruff) and the service time is 6:00. Rev. Danny Murray from the Living Way Church will be bringing the message. There will be congregational singing as well as special singing from other churches. It will be a great time of fellowship and worship. DO NOT LET ANYTHING KEEP YOU FROM BEING IN ATTENDANCE!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS to our graduates of 2012: Jamie Bishop, Patrick Brown, Hannah Kennedy, Shayne Nelson, Daniel Richards, and Caleb Weathers ACTS Student Ministries & Pastor Jason Fowler did an OUTSTANDING JOB this past Sunday night. The Spirit of the Lord filled the place and many people responding to the altars in seeking God for help. I want to thank them for sharing their gifts and talents with us and for being obedient and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. THANK YOU!!!!! The Band of Brothers went to Hope Community Church of God in Barnwell, SC this past Friday and Saturday and did some work to help a Sister Church. Nine of our men removed windows, installed new windows, including casing them out and putting metal on the outside. They also put in a photo cell and repaired a church sign and installed a new motion detection light. It is estimated that the Band of

Brothers saved Hope Community Church $1125.00. If you are not involved with the Band of Brothers, you need to see Jason Hayes. There are many factions to this ministry. We meet for fellowship and the Word 1 time a month. We are also working on the Resolution from the movie Courageous and will be doing a special ceremony on Fathers Day. Then there are the opportunities we have to help locally and statewide with special projects. Our goal is to also become global and get involved in short term Foreign Mission work projects. As you can see, there is a place for EVERY MAN, so all we need is for you to get involved with us.

The Woodruff Ministerial Association and area churches are working together on a project to aid District 4 students and parents with school supplies for next school year. This project is called GREAT START WOODRUFF. District 4 is allowing us to hold this event on their campus but in doing so, we must provide for all students. This is a mammoth undertaking, yet God has already begun working miracles. 2000 back packs have been donated to this cause!!!!! Several church are put together to work on a few of the items. Our items are: 1) packs of #2 pencils, 2) pencil sharpeners with covers, 3) pencil pouches with 3 holes, 4) pens (blue/black). Ive asked our ministries to be involved but I want you to be involved as well. There will be a box in the lobby for you to place your items in. Together, we can make this event a huge success. On that day, there will be free haircuts given, a prayer tent to provide prayer for any person or family that wants prayer. Each book bag will also have a copy of the Word of God in it. This is a huge opportunity for our churches in Woodruff to impact our community. Please help us in this endeavor!!! Thank You June 3rd is our next baby dedication. As usual, you need to call the church office and give us the name of your child so we can prepare the things we use for that. We are going to begin something new in our baby dedications. We are asking the parents to provide us 3 photos. As we call you forward for your babys dedication, we want to show the 3 photos of your child. We will need this by Wednesday, May 30th. You can bring them by the office to be scanned or you can email us the pictures at wcog@woodruffcog.org. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of dedicating your children to the Lord.
