Music is a part of our everyday life and without it everything would be simple and boring. The right music can give flavor to special moments of your life, it can make two people fall in love or get back together after a fight, or it can simply turn a person from quiet to lively. We often wonder what kind of music do teenagers listen to, but when you ask the question What kind of music do you listen to?, teenagers always answer the same: Almost any kind. There are many factors that determine the kind of music they listen to, most important being the mood and the activity from a certain moment. But there still are teenagers who listen to a certain kind of music like rock, house, latino, rap or manele. You can recognize those kinds of teenagers by their clothes, behavior or by the way they see life. For example, rock is a kind of music based on violent rhythms and screams and those who like it are easily spotted by their black leather clothes, long hair and many, many black accessories. Oposing rock music are manelele, that are listened to by more and more teenagers. Why is this kind of music so popular? I simply dont know. Maybe because they are fast and they use simple words. Maneaua is actually a type of love song of Oriental origin. Electronic music seems to be another music genre liked by todays teenagers. From disco music, to the loud house music and the soft dream music, the electronic music has become a form of musical culture of the third millennium and evolved rapidly in the past few years. Latino music represents, for the few teenagers who enjoy it, dance music. Passion, vibrations, good mood and flying on the dance floor are the words that describe this genre. Most teenagers listen to music without meaning. Asking people if they listen to music, I concluded that it doesnt matter if youre young or old, child or adult, music, from times long past, expresses feelings, it heals and relaxes. There are also kinds of music that todays teenagers dont like anymore, such as traditional music, classical and opera music, jazz and many more. Those youngsters who still enjoy these types of music were probably educated by the family they come from.

In my opinion, the magazines for teenagers are a very good way of education. That is why I thought that I should present the magazines most apreciated by teenagers like myself. The first magazine is Popcorn which used to be published once a month. The company that owned Popcorn went into liquidation and the last published number was in December 2011. Then we have Cool Girl, Bravo and Bravo Girl. Cool Girl is published once a month, Bravo and Bravo Girl are published twice a month. Some of them have additional articles like horoscope and wallpaper collections. Girls appear to be a lot more interested in magazines than boys, especially because two of those magazines are made particularly for them. The top magazine in number of copies sold is Cool Girl. According to National Readership Survey made between May 2011 and January 2012, the most read publications in Romania are: Cool Girl: 147,000 copies/month; Popcorn: 126,000 copies/month; Bravo: 123,000 copies/bi-monthly; Bravo Girl: 111,000 copies/bi-monthly.

TV Programs
Teenagers receive a lot of information about different subjects from watching TV. Some of the TV channels liked by teenagers are: PRO TV, Antena 1, Prima TV, Taraf TV, Euforia etc. According to the most recent survey made by CCBS, 33% of the people in Romania say that Antena 1 is the channel with the best entertainment shows. In second place, with 21% of the votes is Pro TV, the third place goes to Prima TV, with 15% of the votes. The channels with the best movies are: Pro TV 38% Antena 1 15% TVR 1 14% Kanal D 7% Prima 4%.
