O Divine Redeemer Program
O Divine Redeemer Program
Born in the Island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, Junior Archer obtained his higher education in the field of business from Caribbean Union College (now University of the Southern Caribbean) and Andrews University in Michigan. He recalls that at an early age his father sentenced him to sing in the church choir, which he did not appreciate. But as he grew up singing became his great pleasure. In 1967, along with a younger brother and two cousins, the Archers Quartette was born with Junior being a steady anchor as they responded to demand to sing throughout the island for church services and meetings led by local and renowned American evangelists. The quality of his solo pieces was of such that he was urged to enter the biennial National Music Festivals of Trinidad and Tobago in 1970 and, beginning in 1972, his successes at those festival resulted in his being widely recognized as one of the leading vocalists in the small nation. Between 1972 and his last solo performances in 2004 he captured over a dozen championship trophies in several classes including Oratorio, Lieder, Opera, and the Open Class. After entering Andrews University for advanced studies in 1977, though not a music major, his talent was instantly recognized. He was asked to do all the tenor solo parts for all the choral works performed by the University Singers a role he held throughout the five years of his association with the university choir from 1977 to 1982. Though now a senior role model, his enthusiasm for music has not diminished. One of his avocations is to assist choirs and soloists in their preparation to participate in the National Music Festivals. Another source of pleasure and privilege is the opportunity to present suitable music for worship services and other sacred occasions. He also leads Le Voix, a chorale group specializing in worship music that, with his new bride Genevieve, he helped establish in 2007. HANDS International is pleased to join with other sponsors and with the audience in welcoming to Loma Linda and the Inland Empire Mr. Junior Archer, brother, friend, colleague and gifted musical artist, to serve as the feature presenter in this sacred concert to the glory, not of himself or ourselves, but of our Divine Redeemer.

He has been associate professor at Philippine Womens University and now serves on the faculty of both St. Paul University and Ateneo de Manila University. His father is one of the early founders of HANDS international. Welcome, Professor Coo.
Bridges Chorale
This chorale is a vocal ensemble that seeks to serve as a medium through which the redemptive calling of Christ can be conveyed, their passion being to sing to the theme of Gods unconditional love and amazing grace. The chorale seeks to open avenues of friendship and unity through the diversity of its repertoire, and it is this goal that inspired the creation of the name Bridges. Now in the twelfth year since its founding, the chorale has performed and been warmly received in churches from the south to the north of California. Members are from very diverse disciplines medicine, dental hygiene, medical technology, nursing, management, photography, computer technology and information systems, and many more. But they share a common calling to fostering the healing of persons and honor the giver of all good gifts through sacred music. We are pleased that this group of Filipino singers can join with our sponsors to demonstrate that the richness of individual cultures is given to share, that diversity of tradition can be truly bridged by grace, thereby creating a new all-inclusive community solidly built on faith in the name and for the honor of our Divine Redeemer.
Jonathan Arevalo Coo, who accompanies our featured soloist for the evening, cannot recall any time he was not surrounded by and infused with music. Along with his two siblings, all highly educated and skilled musicians, he probably inherited and imbibed it in utero through his mother who has lived and taught music all her life both in Asia and the United States. Jonathan is now an international educator, having graduated from Philippine High School for the Arts, studied voice at the distinguished
