INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS Scope: The Bangladesh Journal of Plant Breeding and Genetics publishes original research results and

short communications related to plant genetics and breeding. Each volume of the journal comprises two issues to be published in June and December every year. Submission of manuscript: On the first page of the manuscript only Title of the paper and the name(s) of the author with address should be typed, and on the second page Title and Abstract of the paper should be given. On the following pages Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgement if any and References should be typed in the order mentioned. The paper should be typewritten doubled spaced with wide margins (Left and top 4.0 cm, right and bottom 3.0 cm) on good quality paper of 30 cm x 21 cm size. The paper should not normally exceed ten types written pages (including tables, figures, graphs and list of references). Title: The title of the paper must be brief and specific. Abstract: The abstract must be completely self-explanatory and intelligible. It must include the reason for conducting the study, objectives, method(s) used, results and a conclusion. An abstract should not exceed 250 words for a regular paper. Keywords: 3-5 keywords should be cited Text: The text of the paper should be clear, brief and comprehensive. It should include Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion and References. Materials and Methods should include a clear and concise account of the experimental procedure. The Results and Discussion should preferably be combined and present the principal findings of the results. Tables, Graphs and Figures: Number of Tables, Graphs and Figures should be minimum. Numerical data must not be presented in two forms (e.g. in both table and graph). Table should be typed on a separate sheet and indicate on a typescript its preferred position in the text. Figure and graph should drawn with black ink (Indian) on a white drawing paper or tracing film or on graph paper with soft pencil. The figure and graph should be properly labeled with bold and solid lines so that these can stand reduction upto half or less of the original. The photograph if any should be provided on glossy black and white papers. References: In the text the references should be given within brackets without a comma between the name of the author and year. The reference list at the end of the text must be alphabetical by senior author. Journal references should include names of all authors, year, complete title, publication volume number and inclusive pages. For books, give the names of all authors, the editor if any, year, complete title, publisher and place of publication, for example: Farquhar, G. D. 1978.
