Pascack Valley: Purchasing Tickets Connections Ticket Prices
Important Changes
While there are no changes on Pascack Valley Line trains, please review schedule panels for changes to connecting trains at Secaucus. As a reminder, early getaway service operates on Friday, May 25, Tuesday, July 3 and Friday, August 31. The train shaded in purple on the weekday outbound panel operates on these days, while the train shaded in gray does not. Also, a weekend/major holiday schedule will be in effect on Memorial Day (May 28), Independence Day (July 4) and Labor Day (September 3).

Store larger items in the overhead racks or under the seats. Pets Only service animals accompanying customers with disabilities or their trainers, police dogs and small pets in carry-on travel cages are allowed on-board NJ TRANSIT trains. Smoking Smoking is not allowed on any trains, in any stations, or on any platforms. Violators are subject to fine. Electronic Devices and Cell Phones Listen or speak at a volume that does not disturb other passengers. Bicycles, Segways and In-Line Skates Collapsible bicycles are permitted aboard trains at all times. Standard-frame bicycles are permitted except on weekday trains arriving in Hoboken between 6-10 a.m. or departing Hoboken between 4-7 p.m. Bicyclists can only board or alight trains at a station with a high-level or mini-high level platform. For safety reasons, bicyclists are not permitted to board or alight trains at a low-level platform, including Hoboken Terminal. Bicycles are not permitted on holidays; the day prior to a holiday, Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur; or Friday after Thanksgiving. Conductors may make exceptions to this policy based on crowding and capacity. Limit of 2 bicycles per accessible car; customers with disabilities always have priority. There is no additional charge for bicycles. We are not responsible for bicycles that are lost, stolen or damaged on the NJ TRANSIT system. Bicycle storage is available at many stations; call 973-491-7600 for details. Our bicycle policy also applies to Segways and electric bicycles. You can carry in-line skates, but you may not wear them aboard trains.
Purchasing Tickets
Train personnel can accept cash only (no bills over $20). All tickets purchased onboard are subject to an additional $5 charge. Please buy your ticket(s) before boarding the train to save $5. There is at least one Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) available at all rail stations.

HUDSON-BERGEN LIGHT R AIL SECAUCUS JUNC TION
NJ TRANSIT riders can connect to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail at Hoboken for trips to Bayonne, Jersey City, North Bergen, Union City and Weehawken. Secaucus Junction connects 11 of NJ TRANSITs 12 commuter rail lines. On the upper level youll find the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and MidTOWN DIRECT service (on the Morris & Essex and MontclairBoonton lines) to and from New York. On the lower level are the Main, Bergen County, Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines. You can transfer between the upper and lower levels using magnetically encoded tickets to pass through fare gates. Please be sure to retain your ticket for passage. You can transfer directly between train lines on the same level.

Purchase your ticket before boarding trains when a ticket agent and/or a TVM is available. TVMs accept credit cards, debit cards and cash (no bills over $20). If you have a personal check or Transit Benefits, please go to a ticket agent or a major terminal. NJ TRANSIT 10-trip tickets and NJ TRANSIT student monthly passes are not available from TVMs. For additional convenience, you can have your monthly pass automatically delivered each month via U.S. Mail by signing up for Quik-Tik. MEADOWL ANDS R AIL LINE
Rail service operates for major events at MetLife Stadium, including all Jets and Giants home games. (Events at IZOD Center and smaller event at the stadium are served by shuttle buses to/from Secaucus Junction.) Rail service begins about 3 1/2 hours before the event and continues for about 2 hours after the event. For schedules and fares, visit njtransit.com/meadowlands.

Extending Your Journey If you extend your trip, you must pay the one-way fare between the destination on your ticket/pass and your final destination. Changing Your Terminal A flat fee of $2.75 will be charged on-board trains when you present a ticket/pass printed with Hoboken Terminal for travel to/from New York or points in New Jersey requiring at transfer via the fare gates at Secaucus. Traveling to Newark Liberty International Airport One-way tickets with the airport as the destination include an access fee of $5.50 and are encoded to allow passage through the fare gates at the station. Please be sure to retain your ticket for use in the fare gates. Children 11 and under are not required to pay the access fee. The access fee is currently waived on monthly passes with Newark Liberty International Airport as the origin or destination. Tickets purchased aboard trains require that you pay the access fee upon arrival at the airport station for fare gate passage. Commuter Tax Benefit Programs Set aside up to $125 per month in pre-tax salary and save up to $500 annually on transit costs. Employers also save. Visit njtransit.com/taxbenefits.

Use your NJ TRANSIT rail pass on light rail or bus! Rail passes are imprinted with a bus-zone number. You can use that rail pass for any light rail trip, or for bus trips up to the number of zones indicated on the pass simply by presenting it to the bus operator or light rail fare enforcement officer. Rail tickets purchased for transfer between the Hoboken and Newark division rail lines via Secaucus will be valid for use on the Newark Light Rail at no additional cost for connections between Newark Broad Street and Newark Penn stations only, with a single ticket. Rail one-way, round-trip and 10-trip tickets are not valid on other light rail or bus lines.

Q Indicates this train is part of the Quiet Commute program. Customers are asked to silence all audio devices, refrain from cell phone use, conduct conversations in subdued voices, and maintain low headphone volumes to avoid disturbing other passengers.
