Making Kongguksu (Cold Soy Milk Noodle Soup) & Dotorimuk Muchim (Seasoned Acorn Jelly)

The Yeoksam Global Village Center is hosting a Korean cooking class to make kongguksu and dotorimuk muchim on Thursday, June 7. Kongguksu is a dish of cold noodles in a chilled soybean puree which is made of ground white soybeans after soaked, boiled and skinned. Kongguksu is sweet and rich in nutrition. It is a summer specialty for people who are easily exhausted from the hot weather. Dotorimuk or acorn jelly is a Korean food which is a jelly made from acorn starch. Dotorimuk is most commonly eaten in the form of Dotorimuk muchim, in which small chunks of dotorimuk are seasoned and mixed with other ingredients such as sliced carrots and scallion, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, red chili powder and sesame seeds. Tour to the Demilitarized Zone

Tour to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)


The Yeoksam Global Village Center is organizing a special day trip to the Demilitarized Zone on Saturday, June 09, from 8:00 to 14:30. The tour will be limited to foreign nationals.

Make Your Own Shirts Using Natural Dye

The Yeoksam Global Village Center is hosting a Natural Dye class on June 13. In this program, participants will make Korean traditional Natural Dye T-shirts as well as learn about natural dyes. You can dye your own shirts or other decorating items. It will be a great opportunity for you to get a hands-on experience of Korea's traditional culture. Volunteer at St. Marys Hospital

Volunteer at St. Marys Hospital with the Yeoksam Global Village Center!

On Saturday, June 16 from 10:00 to12:00, our volunteer group will visit St. Marys Hospital in Gangnam to help with the preparation of medical kits, cleaning hospital facilities and spending time with young patients. Those of you who have interest in music, magic, arts or other recreational activities to share with children are welcome to join us!! (No prior experience required.) Please join us and get involved in your local community.
