n Evaluation Criteria
Yonsei University makes a comprehensive evaluation of each applicant by taking into consideration his or her academic achievements and potential as well as non-academic accomplishments. Transcripts, personal statement, scores of standardized tests (e.g., , SAT, AP, GCE-A Level, NCEA, IB, etc.), awards, certificates/licenses, and scores of language proficiency tests are representative elements used for the evaluation of applicants qualifications.

n Korean Language Proficiency Test Admitted students except ASD and TAP MUST take a Korean language proficiency test administered by Yonsei University Korean Language Institute (KLI). They are required to satisfy the following language proficiency conditions before taking regular courses.
Korean Language Proficiency Level 5 or above completed Level 4 completed None Take level 5 courses at KLI Korean Language Requirements Regular Courses Take regular courses with no restrictions at Seoul campus Take 12 credit regular courses at Seoul campus
Level 3 or below Take international students' In accordance with Campus Allocation Principles(at completed preliminary courses Seoul or Incheon campus) by University College 1. Those who do not submit the scores of Korean language proficiency test taken at Yonsei University will automatically be regarded as being below proficiency level 4, and thus will be required to take international students' preliminary courses. 2. The following individuals are exempt from the Korean language proficiency test. Those who completed and passed level 5 at KLI. (Certificates issued by other universities Korean language institutes are not valid for the exemption of the test.) Those who reached the level 5 (or above) of TOPIK, KLPT (score: 400), or KPE (Including Speaking and Writing tests).

Regarding Asian Studies Division(ASD) and Techno Art Program(TAP), these programs will newly open from Spring semester in 2012, and the students are to study the entire curriculums in English at Songdo International Campus located in Inchon.

Required Documents (Please submit ORIGINALs, Photocopies with Notarization/Issuers official stamp, or Photocopies after verifying the originals at Yonsei Admissions Office. ) 1. 2. 3. 4. Completed Application Form (Applicants need to print out and bring an application identification slip attached to the form when taking performance tests and Korean language proficiency test.) High School Diploma or Certificate of (Expected) Graduation Official Transcripts of All Attended Middle Schools and High Schools or Their Equivalents (Chinese high school graduates must submit the grade report with scores in it.)
