Educational Problems of Students in Rural Ahmedabad-A Study

* I/C Principal, Kriteeti B.Ed. College, Ahmedabad. Introduction : India though is fast developing as super power with impressive industrial growth and economic development. It is falling behind on human development index. Due to various social and economic problems Indias education programme is besieged with many problems of the biggest victims are those living in the rural areas. Many children living in rural areas receive a level of education which is very poor. In the rural areas students leave school before the entering upper primary level. There are so many reasons to them. Hence, the researcher has made efforts to know the problems faces by the students. So the topic of the study isEducational problems of students in rural Ahmedabad-A study Statement of The Problem : Educational problems of students in rural AhmedabadA study Objectives : (1)To study the educational problems of secondary school students in rural Ahmedabad. (2) To compare the educational problems of boys and girls of secondary school students in rural Ahmedabad. Population : In the present study secondary school students of rural area of Ahmedabad have been selected. Sample : The research selected ten (10 ) secondary school of Gujarati medium as a sample with present study 421 students have been selected with the help of purposive sample method in which 223 boys and 198 girls students have been selecte Limitations of The Study : (1) In this study, only secondary school students have been selected of Gujarati medium. (2) The schools situated in the rural area of Ahmedabad district have been selected for present study. Tool of Study : Educational Problem Questionnaire has been developed by researcher for the present study to know about the problems of boys and girls students of secondary schools of rural Ahmedabad district. Research Methodology : Survey method was used for the present study. Procedure : Educational problem questionnaire was administered on selected students of secondary school students of rural Ahmedabad district. Statistical Analysis : The data was analysed by using the percentage. Finding of The Study : See Table-1 May , 2012

Suggestions of The Study : (1) Teacher should improve teaching quality in the class room with the use of technology. (2) Teacher should feel the problems of students and try to solve it anyhow. (3) School and government should increase the amount of scholarships and give them free books, uni forms, notebooks, stationeries etc. (4) Midday meal programme should make more quali tative and effective for the rural students. (5) Parents should take care of their childrens study and guided them. (6) School should organize sometime the contact programme for parents, teachers and students. (7) Society should provided proper educational envi ronment to inspire the rural students. (8) Educational board should make the syllabus more intresting and connent with social environment. (9)Teachers should maximum use of teaching aids in

the classroom for make intresting topics. (10) Schools should organize health check-up programme to know students health problems and do maximum for them better health. (11) Teacher should create repo with the students and parents to fear free environment. (12) Schools should provide more facilities for cocurricular and sports activities for the students. (13) Evaluation method should be un-biased and cu mulative. Remedial classes should be taken for the low achieve students. Conclussion : Indias entire education system should be redesigned to favour employment, nullify the poverty aspect and improve the quality of education on every level, especially in the primary level. Aggressive awareness campaigns in rural areas to negate the negative attitude of the rural population.
