finishedsurfaceoftheditch.UseTable9403(IDOTDrainageManual)
fornvalues.
3) Determinethemaximumallowabledepthofflowintheditch.The
dischargeshouldbeconfinedwithintheditchandprovide1
freeboard belowtheshoulderofthehighway.
4) Checkthecapacityofthisditch.
5) Iftheinitialditchistoosmall,selectalargersizeorincreasethe
capacitybyothermeansandreturntostep2).
