Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc

Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc

Fluorescent brightener for polyester and triacetate fibres and their component in blends with wool or cellulosic fibres:

On these fibres Leucophor EHBS produces

Brilliant, bluish brightening effects with good light and very good sublimation and wet fastness properties.

The brightening effects obtained with Leucophor EHBS are distinguished by a more pronounced bluish tone than those produced by Leucophor EHB.

Fastness Properties:
Rating Xenon lamp* Washing 4,95C, ISO Dry cleaning, ISO Dry heat ISO, 210C 5-6 5 5 5

There are as yet no standard tests for determining the light fastness of flurorescent brighteners. Our test method follows in essentials the SNV Standard 19509: Determination of the light fastness of dyeings and prints with artificial (Xenon) light, the fastness being assessed by visual examination. Experience has shown that this is a relatively severe test, giving ratings which are not immediately comparable with those of any other system of fastness evaluation.

3.

Scope of Application:
Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc is a fluorescent brightener for 100% polyester fibres, for 100% triacetate fibres, and the polyester and triacetate component in blends with cellulosic fibres and wool. This product is specially suitable for continuous application e.g. in synthetic resin baths or in combination with a wide variety of finishes but can also be applied by the exhaust method under HT conditions such as in a HT jet or HT winch beck.

4.

Dilution and preparation of stock solutions:

Before it is removed from the container, Leucophor EHBS must be carefully homogenized by stirring until the emulsion is again of a uniform bluish grey colour. Dilute the required amount with cold water. Do not boil up. Stock solutions must again be stirred before use.

5.1

Application:
Pad thermofix method: 100% PES Pad with 1-8 g/l 0.5 g/l Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc Hostapal NI Extra Liquid

Dry, develop at 180-210C for 45-15 s.

100% PES net curtains Pad with 5-10 g/l 1 g/l 3-5 g/l Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc Hostapal NI Extra Liquid Elfugin AKT Liquid and with a soil release product, matting agent and handle/filling agent

Dry, thermofix at 180-210C for 30-20 s.

Polyester / cotton blends Pad the well bleached fabric with 52-80 g/l 3-5 g/l 10-30 g/l 1 g/l Synthetic resin, e.g. Finish KVS Liquid Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc Ceranine WN Liquid Hostapal NI Extra Liquid

Dry, cure at 175-190C for 60-30 s.

5.2

Pad steam method: Pad with 1-8 g/l 1 g/l Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc Hostapal NI Extra Liquid

Dry, steam with saturated steam at 103C for 20-30 min or with Superheated steam at 160-175C for 8-4 min. 5.3 Exhaust method:

HT process (jet, beam etc.): 0.2-0. 8% Leucophor EHBS Liquid Conc 1 ml/l Leveler-F Liquid Head from 40 to 130C in 30 min, Treat at this temperature for 20-30 min and then cool. Good results are also obtained with carriers at boiling temperature. In order to avoid too rapid adsorption of the brightener on the polyester fibre, allow the goods to run for about 10 min before adding acid.

6.

Shading
If a yet stronger bluish shade is desired, a shading dye such as 0.005 g/l Foron Brilliant Violet E-BLN Granulated can be added directly to the padding bath.

7.

Correcting the brightening effects:

The brightening effects of Leucophor EHBS are distinguished by high fastness properties. For this reason it is difficult to strip the product from the fibre. To correct unlevel brightenings, we recommended trying the following stripping method: Treat with 5 g/l 1 g/l Carrier-HTP Liquid Ekaline F Liquid

at the boil, then brighten again with a further addition of Leucophor EHBS.
