G I F TS A N D T A L E N TS WORKSH OP: I received an unexpected gift during Lent when I decided to participate in the Gifts and Talents group led by Fr. Rob. I have done a lot of workshops similar to this one and thought it would be much the same but it was somehow different. I don't know if it was the way it was formatted, the leadership of Rob, the other participants or a combination of all, but I came away with renewed commitment to myself and God. Through the exercises, deep sharing and allowing myself to be vulnerable, it was like a wave had washed over me and took away some old ways of thinking and allowed me to see myself in new light. This was a rich class full of treasures I will long remember and cherish. It is a way to build a strong community and commitment to each other. Pat Bell

Gifts and Talents was a really great workshop. We were a small group of four with Rob+ leading the class. We began to see ourselves through the eyes of our spiritual friends. We did a lot of sharing and became very comfortable with each other. I think we began to see some of the gifts we were already using. This class was a real blessing. AnnMarieOBrien

Holy F amily Signs Petition Holy Family accomplished another requirement of the GreenFaith Certification Program when 51 attendees at two services in May signed the Petition to ask the U. S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee to vote the Safe Chemicals Act out of committee and on to the Senate Floor for a vote. We needed 50 votes to make this qualify as a Justice action and needed to be emailed to GreenFaith by May 28, 2012. We actually had 59 as I had gotten 8 people from Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy, our partner in the pollinator garden project, to sign last Friday. Everyone who signed is now a part of our effort to complete 25 tasks during a two-year period. We definitely have completed two and have completed two others that I think qualify and started work on two more. I feel we are off to a good start and you will be hearing more about how you can help Holy FamilybecomeGreenFaithCertifiedandhelpcareforGodsCreation!

The h o l y F a m i l y S t r e a m k e e p e r s will meet Saturday, June 23, 8-11am. This time change is to avoid the heat/humidity in mid day. All are welcome! Please bring tools, gloves, and water. Poison ivy is present so long sleeves wouldn't hurt. Come at whatever time you can, join us, enjoy the fellowship and the rewarding hard work. The invasive species are mocking us! We need to conquer them! Look at the areas we have already cleared, they are already being taken over by Mother Nature! What a reward! Also, come visit the pollinator garden. It is beautiful! I visited it Wednesday evening and the blooming plants are beautiful! Thank you all for your help and your prayerful support! Amen! Love in Christ, Diane
