The NITCP is the key component of Basketball Australias national player identification and development strategy. It is a systematic and unified national approach to identify and develop outstanding junior basketballers in every state & territory within Australia. The NITCP athletes undergo: personalised strength & conditioning (minimum twice a week) on court skill development (minimum once a week) and greater personalised access to sport sciences (as required)

The program is segmented into the following areas: whole squad work (50 hours) small group individual work (50 hours) sports science & management skills (20 hours)

specific strength, conditioning, speed & agility (80 hours), incorporated into individual or team sessions. physical & shooting tests are administered (three times a year) video & evaluation feedback sessions provided a minimum four times a year.

Strengths: Versatility, he can play 2-4 equally well. Best defensive player on Warrigal Warrior junior representative team against guards or forwards. 85% free throw shooter. Unselfish team player. NITCP tests have shown X to have exceptional endurance. Weaknesses: Possibly too unselfish. Never wanting the son of coach or ball hog label, he would rather give an assist than score himself. He will sometimes pass up good looks at the basket, but has noticeably improved in this area in recent games. He is extremely strong and his passes are bullets at times. Players of average ability may find it hard to catch all passes, especially the "no look" passes. Comments: X is not a natural athlete but learns quickly through repetition. X is an exceptional student of the game and a pleasure to coach. His work-ethic is exemplary and his court-sense is extremely well-developed for his age. Prepared by:
