A civilization is made up of many parts. In Social Studies you have learned about
many different Ancient Civilizations this year. Each of these civilizations has
several things in common. Use the following letters to think of words that made
these civilizations successful. If you have more than one idea you can write them
all down.

A civilization is a society with cities, a central government, workers who specialize
in certain jobs leading to social classes, that has religion, writing, art and
architecture.

There is not civilization without agriculture; societies need a stable food supply
before they can develop.

Wesley named his civilization Weslandia, what is the name of yours going to be?

Geography

Wesley started his civilization after he created a crop that he could live off of.
Every civilization needs to be able to feed its people. What were some different
biomes of the civilizations that we have learned about? How did the other
civilizations use their surroundings to help them survive?









Like Wesley created a new plant for his civilization to survive on, you will need to
describe the biome that your civilization will be in as well as what crops the
people in your civilization will grow and survive on. Be creative make up plants!
Include drawings of the plants that you imagine!

Religion

With each civilization we learned about, we also learned about the religion that
the people of that time believed in. What are some of the religions we have
talked about in Social Studies? Write down the different religions that you have
learned about.










Now think about the civilization that you are creating. What kind of religion do
you want it to have? Write below an explanation of what religion is going to be
like in your civilization. Remember, this is your civilization you can create anything
you want!



Achievements and Arts

We learned a lot about what each civilization accomplished. We have also seen
the beautiful works of art the described the civilization. For the section we are
going to talk about language, because for each civilization to create their own
language was an achievement, one that in many cases is still spoken today. What
were some of the languages that these civilizations spoke?

Economy

In every civilization needs a way for its people to make a living.
Create a system that your civilization uses to exchange goods and services. Create
a number system like Wesley did for your civilization as well. Explain how your
number system works and how the citizens exchange goods and services.

Social Structure

What is your society like, does everyone get along? Are there social structures like the one in
the Middle Ages or Egypt? Are there sports that everyone plays together? Use the space below
to create and describe your social structure. Create new sports to play as well!
