Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, informed that the process of computerization in the HP Vidhan Sabha was stared

way back in 1997 when a special grant amounting to about Rs.1.00 crore was approved by the Government of India on the recommendation of the Finance Commission of India for computerization of HP Vidhan Sabha. After this, all the expenditure being made on computerization (Hardware/ software) is met from the office expenses of the Vidhan Sabha and no special demand was ever made for this purpose. Secretary, HPVS, also informed that earlier every Member of the Vidhan Sabha was proved laptop with printer but after their life was over, now keeping in view the demand of the Members, they have been provided with Desktop along with Printers. They have also been provided with a Computer Table and a Chair. The Secretary, HP Vidhan Sabha, further informed that every facility to be provided to the Members is decided in the Members Amenities Committee chaired by the Honble Speaker. Shri Sanjiv Gupta, Scientific Officer, NIC, informed that computerization in Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha is being done by the National Informatics Centre. The web-site of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha (www.hpvidhansabha.nic.in), which is linked to NICs Delhi server, is also being maintained by the NIC. Every information to be uploaded on the web-site is uploaded, as and when made available by the concerned branch, by the representative of the NIC posted in the HP Vidhan Sabha. House Proceedings/Gazette Notifications

House Proceedings Since August, 2009 onwards, the proceedings of the House Are available under this link. Shri Gupta informed that in HP Vidhan Sabha all the Reporters have been provided with Laptops with network facility. Unedited House Proceedings are uploaded on the web-site in the evening on the same day of the Sitting of the House. Once the Sitting of the House is over and the entire proceedings are made available to him by the Editor of Debates, he at his own level clubs the proceedings in one PDF file by removing any repetition etc. and uploads the same on the web-site. NIC representative is assisted by one or two persons from the HP Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. He also informed that they never upload the edited House Proceedings on the web-site. These proceedings are only for information of the public and cannot be quoted for any legal purpose. Gazette Notifications This link further connects to the Department of Printing & Stationary, Government of Himachal Pradesh, from where one can find any notification issued by any Department of the State/ Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha with the help of different search options available on the web-site. Besides, Government of Himachal Pradesh, has given a Login Name/ Password to every Department in the State as well as Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, to upload their respective notifications directly on the web-site. The information on the web-site is uploaded in English as well as in Hindi if it is made available to him in both the languages by the concerned branches of the HP Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. It is the wish of the HP Vidhan Sabha Secretariat as to when and which information is to be put on the web-site and he only uploads the same on the web-site after making it internet compatible. A soft copy of every information is made available to him in his office by the HP Vidhan Sabha Secretariat branches. The Secretary, HP Vidhan Sabha Secretariat informed that in this regard all the branches have been given necessary directions. Shri Gupta suggested that for computerization Punjab Vidhan Sabha should contact SIO, National Informatics Centre, Punjab, Chandigarh, and discuss the matter with him. NIC will work out further details in this regard. The only thing Vidhan Sabha is to do is to set-up a Computer Centre in the Vidhan Sabha premises, provide necessary hardware in the Vidhan Sabha premises and office space
