**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** DANVILLE COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL HIRES BOYS SOCCER, GIRLS GOLF COACHES
The Danville Community School Corporation Board of Trustees approved the recommendation to hire two varsity coaches Monday night. Drew Brokamp has been named the head coach of the Danville boys soccer program. Brokamp is a 2004 graduate of Danville. During his senior year in 2003, Brokamp helped lead the Warriors to the Sagamore Conference championship- the last team for the school to do so. Brokamp was also the team MVP that season, and was an honorable mention member of the Indianapolis Stars All-Metro West team. Brokamp has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Warriors under Jason Bridwell, who resigned his position in April. Last years team finished with a season record of 8-10, and was highlighted by a 1-0 PK win over Plainfield in the first round of the Brownsburg Sectional. Coach Brokamp has been an important part of the success of our soccer program, both as a player and as an assistant coach, said athletic director Jon Regashus. He has great relationships with our studentathletes and brings an energy level to the program that is necessary for success. I am excited to continue working with the DCHS soccer program in my new position as head coach and I am looking forward to the challenge of growing the game and developing players here in Danville, said Coach Brokamp. In addition, Jamie Knotts has been named the head girls golf coach. Knotts is an instructional assistant at North Elementary School in Danville, and also serves as the assistant coach for the girls tennis program. She previously has experience as an assistant golf professional at Tomahawk Hills Golf Course in Jamestown, and Delaware Country Club in Muncie. Knotts replaces the only girls golf coach in school history, Sandy Beck-Willis, who retired from coaching after leading the Warriors to their first regional appearance in 15 years by finishing second at the Danville Sectional in 2011. We are glad to be adding Coach Knotts to our coaching staff and she is a great fit for our girls golf program. She is excited to get to work with our athletes right away, said Regashus.
