Semi micro inorganic analysis for anions

Preparation of Na2CO3 prepared soln :

Add to water little amount of of Na2CO3

Saturate
Saturated soln of Na2CO3

Add 0.2 g salt

Heat in water bath for 5 min

Some PPt +some clear soln

Separated the soln

Add distilled water to the ppt ppptresidue

Heat in water bath for 5 min

Add the clear soln to the last one

Now this added soln is prepared for anion test.

Sample 1
Physical analysis :
1) Colour : Blue

2) Physical state : Granulated 3) Solubility : 4) Odour: In cold water No odour.

Inorganic qualitative Chemical analysis for anion of given salt:

Sample - 1 5 drops Na2CO3 prepared soln + water Solution add dil. HCl to acidify(litmus test) + extra 2 drops Acidified soln Solution 2-3 drops of BaCl2 soln White PPt. (BaSO4)

Result : SO42- present . Reaction : SO42- + Ba2+ BaSO4 (white ppt)

White precipitate of barium sulphate, BaSO4, insoluble in warm dilute hydrochloric acid and in dilute nitric acid, but moderately soluble in boiling, concentrated hydrochloric acid.

Sample 2
Physical analysis :
5) Colour : White

6) Physical state : Crystalline solid 7) Solubility : 8) Odour: In cold water No Odour.

Inorganic qualitative Chemical analysis for anion of given salt:

Sample - 2 5 drops Na2CO3 prepared soln + water Solution add dil. H2SO4 to acidify (litmus test) + extra 2 drops Acidified soln Solution 2-3 drops of AgNO3 soln White PPt. (AgCl)

Result : Cl- present . Reaction : Cl- + Ag+ AgCl (white ppt)

Curdy precipitate of silver chloride, AgCl, insoluble in water and in dilute nitric acid, but soluble in dilute ammonia solution, in potassium cyanide (POISON) and in sodium thiosulphate solutions.
