CATTLE: Herd consists of (46) milk cows, (1) Brown Swiss 2nd calf, (1) R&W 3rd calf, (15) cows recently fresh or within the last 45 days, (8) cows springing, due in the next 45 days balance bred back due for year around freshening, (6) Holstein B&W, (1) Brown Swiss Heifers Bred 17 mo.-22 mo. old. for July-Oct. freshening, (10) Holstein B&W, (1) Brown Swiss short bred or open eligible to bred Heifers 12 mo. -16 mo. old. (14) Holstein B&W open heifers 4-10 mo. old. HERD FACTS: This is a home raised herd since 1946. Majority of the herd is either all 1st, 2nd or 3rd calf. Cows milked in stanchion barn, adapted to sand bedded free stalls, left out to pasture daily. Hoof trimmed as needed. AI bred for 40 plus yrs., Select Sires, Accelerated, Alta Genetics. Herd presently is averaging a 3.99% bf, 3.14% pro. w/high components, SCC average year around of 200,000-250,000.
