CAMP REPORT II RESIDENTIAL CAMP AT SRI DHESIKA SABHA,MUMBAI

The II residential camp at Sri Dhesika Sabha Matunga, Mumbai, was held from 10-05-2011 to 17-052011.About 19 students participated in this spiritual camp. On the inaugural day, Sri U.Ve.Saranathaacharyar swamy and Sri U.Ve.E.S.Mukundan swamy addressed the parents and children explaining the urgent need of such spiritual camps. The students were taught SwamiDhesikan stotrams, Bhajans, Spiritual stories, dance (Abhangs).They were also trained to perform a skit on the Bhagavathas. They were taught Sandhyavandanam by one of the students C.R.Sanjay Srivatsan who just completed his XII class in merit. Throughout the camp, the children were taught about the importance of satsang and spirituality. The importance of the following SriVaishnava Sampradaya was stressed by Sri U.Ve.Mukundan swamy throughout the camp. Debates and discussions were held among the students so that they could get a clear view on the topics such as protection of culture etc. The premise of the camp was so divine that students could experience the blessings of Swami Dhesikan. They could feel SwamiDhesikans grace shower on them. Chanting of stotrams was a regular practice in the camp during Sattumurai which transformed the serene atmosphere into a divine one. The main highlight of the camp was the teaching of Bhajans and Abhangs by Sri U.Ve.Mukundan Swamy. Students danced to the tune of vital Bhajans. Delicious prasadam were served to the children. Sri Rajamani Swamy from Hyderabad took a lot of interest in cooking and serving the prasadam to children. All the members of serving prasadam from Shri Dhesika Sabha immensely contributed to the camp in many ways. Sri U. Ve Sowmyan swami and Sri U.Ve.Saranathan swamy ensured that all the needs of the children were fulfilled. All the camp videos and photos were uploaded by Sri Veera raghavan swamy from Mumbai. I was very lucky to be a part of the camp. The participants of the camp learnt many things from the camp. They also promised to respect their parents; do Sandhyavandanam and chant SwamiDhesikan stotrams regularly. Parents of the children were very happy seeing an enormous change in their wards behavior. The special occasion during the camp was Sri Nrusimha Jayanthi on 16-05-2011.The day was specially celebrated in Chembur Sri Ahobila Mutt along with the camp students. Swami Dhesikan stotrams were chanted throughout the day. Bhajans and Abhangs were sung on that. Students simply danced and showcased their bhakti towards Sri Nrusimha. Prizes and certificates were given to the students by Sri Ramani Swamy. The details are;-
