General Description and Italian regulation
Rubber Delineators made in vulcanized dough to be used to bound bicycle lanes or reserved lanes. The system is regulated by the Italian Law Decree nr. 495 published on December 16th 1992 and by the technical draft nr. 191, published on November 26th 1996 from the Italian Ministry of Transportation, where are defined the characteristics for the overcoming. In conformity to these requirements the system was approved by the same Ministry with the Decree nr. 1407 (06/04/1998).

Fixing System
The central elements present three holes each, where to insert the nails as described below. The closure ends have to be fixed with two nails only.

Limitations of end uses

The overcoming of the devices is in general not allowed, and it is foreseen only as exceptional eventuality in case of emergency. 3M will not assume any responsibility about damage of the elements (in any time it can occur), arising out of the use where the overcoming represents the normal condition. To discourage the drivers to overcome the device, it is suggested to use the rubber delineator h 10 cm, instead of h 5 cm, because of its different height.

Application Procedures
Place the rubber delineators in the position that they will assume at the end of the installation, align them and bore the pavement through the devices, using a 10 mm drill. This hole should be at least 135 mm deep. Clean the hole to avoid that residuals of powder and dirt could obstruct the insert of the nails. Then pre-mount the screw in the expansion dowel, insert it in the hole and screw it.
