FORWARD JOB DESCRIPTION (FJD)/JOB SPECIFICATION Main purpose of job: Lead the India wide Energy sector team [including (1) oil & gas, (2) power - conventional, renewable and nuclear, and (3) coal and other fuels] in order to meet UK Trade and Investment targets for India. Lead and develop the energy sector business strategy across India. Business development role, increasing opportunities for British companies in India and providing support on the environment and water sector strategies across India in order to meet UK Trade and Investment targets. To assist, advise and support UK energy, environment and water companies on identifying and securing business opportunities in India and to identify Indian companies looking to invest in the UK. To contribute to climate change work, especially on energy security, promotion of new technologies and enhancing business input to the debate % of time

Provide a breakdown of your main duties and responsibilities, and the percentage of your time they occupy: Energy - Trade & Investment

Prepare, lead and execute strategy for the key energy sectors to meet annual UKTI targets. To lead strategy development for UK and Indian companies helping them achieve trade and investment objectives. Work closely with the DFID-BHC Climate Change team and other UK Government departments and organisations to maximise opportunities and on clean energy. Develop, maintain and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders including Indian Government departments, Public sector companies, regulatory bodies, International Development agencies, major domestic and international private players, etc. Direct the pan India team on strategies to adopt with key Indian energy players. Create and work on new initiatives in the energy sector, showcase UK expertise, lead on and deliver key trade events including organising appropriate branding. Work closely with UK and Indian companies to assist in bilateral collaboration in areas like innovative technologies, services and products. Reporting on Indias energy policies (including emerging ones), key international climate change dialogues and policy outcomes. Actively work with GoI officials and follow up on India's external relationship related to achieving energy security. Assess and provide information to UK Government teams on impact of these on the UK. Make the connection between energy policy and commercial opportunities so as to deliver the wider commercial and policy objectives of the UK Government in India Provide high quality written and oral briefings on energy issues for visiting ministers and senior officials.

Provide support, leadership and guidance to 5 person team. 5. Starting Salary: Rs.60829/- to Rs.92402/- per month together with a benefits package (which includes 12% provident fund and 6% special allowance/Superannuation Fund). The successful candidate will be provided with 25 days annual leave and in addition study, maternity/paternity and special leave as per the Terms & Conditions of Service. The package also entitles the incumbent to be a member of a medical benefits scheme that will include medical expenses and hospitalisation cover for self, partner and children. 6. To apply:
