Last Nights Recap: Ben Gullos bid for his fourth straight win was snapped by the Illinois Lincolns, who defeated the CrackerJacks 9-4 at Wayne King Field. The Jacks trailed all game and were down 9-1 entering the top half of the ninth inning, where Paul DeJong drove in a pair and Derek Brown added another RBI. The comeback was cut short though, as the Lincolns prevailed for the second time in as many matchups this year. Illinois is the only team that Will County has not defeated in the MCL. Rebound Kings: The Will County CrackerJacks have only lost back to back games one time during the 2012 campaign, a stretch that saw them drop games to the Northwest Indiana Oilmen and the Dupage County Hounds between June 14-15. The CrackerJacks are 5-1 this season following a loss and will look to continue that success following last nights loss to the Lincolns. Elliott is Elite: CrackerJacks centerfielder and leadoff man Mitch Elliott added his MCL-leading 37th hit of the year in last nights 9-5 loss to the Lincolns. The Xavier University product also leads the league in batting average (.416), is tied for first in RBI at 21, and is third in stolen bases (11). Potts of Gold: Dalton Potts is expected to get his first start of the season today against Southland. The southpaw from the University of Tennessee-Martin hasnt surrendered a run in his last six innings of work over his last three appearances, and has only given up two hits in his last seven innings. The Greenfield, Tenn. native has struck out 11 over 11 2/3 innings during the 2012 campaign. Home Sweet Home: The CrackerJacks will begin an eight day, seven game homestand with the Southland Vikings today, a team that the Jacks defeated 18-0 on June 18 in the only matchup between the two clubs this season. Will County hasnt had much time to enjoy the friendly confines of Brennan Field yet this season, where they are 2-2 on the year. The Jacks are 12-5 this season on the road.
