U9 Tennis Tournament
Bennie Sanzo, Jessie Sanzo, Angus Duncan and Ceredig Jones competed in an Under 9 tennis tournament at Westonbirt School this week. They came second out of five schools, losing by only two points to Westonbirt School which is a tennis academy. The children played fantastic tennis and showed impeccable manners and sportsmanship. Well done! Many thanks to Mrs Sanzo who took the team to Westonbirt.

Swimming News
Years 3 and 4 must be congratulated on completing their National Curriculum swimming awards. These are usually awarded in Year 6 but we have a 100% pass rate in Years 3 and 4 congratulations! The test includes life saving, treading water and technical assessments and the teams are delighted with the standard set. The Upper School Swimming Gala draws ever nearer! The date for your diary is Wednesday 11th July. Water polo is from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm (all Year 8 plus swimmers only involved in one event in the afternoon). The diving competition plus inter-house finals and relays will be from 2.00-4.00 pm. Please be aware that your child will take part in the House swimming finals plus, if required, the House water polo and diving competition. All children are involved in the afternoon session; however, priority for polo is given to those pupils who are only in one event on the afternoon of Wednesday 11th July. All of Year 8 will be involved in some capacity in the polo finals. Some Houses are short of an age band and for this reason discrepancies occur. Swimmers will be notified next week and lists will be circulated to form rooms/lobby and Form Teachers to distribute well in advance. Years 3, 4, 5 and our EAL visitors had great fun in an inter-country water polo match. Russia, Australia, UK and Hungary battled it out all morning with Russia the eventual winners. Mrs Hinchliffe

With only two weeks to go before our summer ball, we still have capacity to provide more tickets for another table or two. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to join us to celebrate the end of the academic year at our Sapphire ball on Saturday 14 July. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have so generously given us auction prizes with which to raise money at our event. May I now take the liberty of asking if anyone has any suitable donations for our raffle.
