According to an ancient story, Daksa performed a sacrifice without inviting iva, the consort of Sat. Not only that, Daksa, in front of his daughter Sat, accused and abused iva. Angry at this and dispassioned about Her birth from Daksa's body, Sat decided to destroy the sacrifice and take re-birth as Prvat. Since then She is called as Daksayajavinin. This story can be found in many Purnas. Names 52) to 56) describe Goddess as compliment of Brahma, iva, Candra, Krtikeya, and Visnu, respectively.
