JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: JudiciaI Affairs Ofcer

The Offce of Student Conduct at UC rvine is seeking a Judicial Affairs Offcer. The Judicial Affairs
Offcer assists in investigating, adjudicating, and processing all non-academic conduct cases referred to
the Offce of Student Conduct.
Responsibilities include: assisting with the campus student discipline process and responding to
individual and group conduct matters, developing an effective recruitment and training process for
the Student Conduct Review Board members, working with student leaders in the areas of leadership
development and effective programming (such as alcohol abuse, hazing, sexual assault, cultural
diversity, gender and sexual orientation issues, and risk management).
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and knowledge:
Knowledge of UC and UCI policies and procedures applying to campus activities, organizations,
and students.
Skills and abilities necessary to mediate disputes and problem solve.
Crisis intervention skills.
Ability to exercise diplomacy in stressful situations.
Effective written and oral communication skills to interact with diverse populations
Knowledge of college student development theory, leadership development, group dynamics,
and management theories and ability to apply the information.
Ability to set goals, objectives and priorities.
Ability to recruit, train, and student staff.
Ability to be creative and resourceful.
Technical skills with: Student Conduct Management Systems, FileMaker Pro, Email and Web
browser, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
