2012 WARRIOR EXPO EAST SPECIAL FEATURE:

KEYNOTE SPEAKER MR. RUDY GIULIANI
Thursday, July 12, 2012 9:30 A.M. Virginia Beach Convention Center, Ballroom
Mr. Giuliani will share his views and experiences about principal leadership in the face of change and crisis. He will discuss how effective leadership leads to success and drives excellence from the team around you - no matter what your mission.
As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani began his rst mayoral term in 1993. He inherited a city awash with violence, a crumbling infrastructure and residential ight to the suburbs. A TIME magazine cover story summed up the conditions as The Rotting of the Big Apple. TIME put New York City on its cover 10 years later, and thanks in large part to Giuliani, the magazine revisited its assessment of the city by touting it as Americas safest city where economic development thrived and families ocked to live. On September 11, 2001, just when New Yorkers were beginning to enjoy the citys revitalization, America suffered the worst attack in its history when terrorists crashed planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Thousands of New Yorkers were killed, including hundreds of members of the citys uniformed services, who rushed to the scene to lead the heroic rescue of tens of thousands of people. Mayor Giuliani immediately began leading the recovery of the city as it faced its darkest hour. Mayor Giuliani was widely lauded for his steady hand during challenging times. He was named Person of the Year by TIME magazine, knighted by the Queen of England, dubbed Rudy the Rock by French President Jacques Chirac, and former rst lady Nancy Reagan presented him with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award. Mayor Giuliani recently ran for the Republican nomination for President of the United States. During his campaign, he galvanized the national debate on such critical issues as national security, education, energy independence, health care, and the economy. The policy commitments Mayor Giuliani made to the American people remain vitally important to Americas future.
