Dear Friends of Megan Hixon: It is a great joy to me to tell you that Megan has been doing exceptional work in her service as a missionary with Word of Life Hungary since her arrival 5 years ago. In addition to serving as my administrative assistant, Megan has played a pivotal role in the Born Again to a Living Hope drama, which has been seen by more than 11,000 mainly public school teens. She is a regular mentor of Bible school students and has shared her testimony and sung in several countries in Central Europe. Recently, the Hungarian government has passed a new tax law. Simply stated, it means that all of our continuing missionaries in Hungary will have to pay into the Hungarian national health care and social security systems beginning January 1, 2014. They will need to continue paying personal income tax here as well. For Megan, this means having to raise an additional $1,570 in monthly support before 2014 in order to maintain her current pay and standard of living. Megans missionary ministry is critical to our future at Word of Life Hungary. Since much of our support comes from the US, we need an American administrator who understands both US supporters and the Word of Life financial system. Megan is one of the rare people who combine excellent administrative ability with a passion for people, regularly sharing the Gospel and discipling young believers. Please pray for Megan as she faces this challenge. If you are one of her regular financial supporters, perhaps God would provide for you to be able to increase your support for her.
